Re: gas stimulus package?
Sarvis, Are you wanting to discuss free markets or environmentalism? I'm not clear whether your point is that free markets are bad or that our lack of attention to environmental issues is bad (as seen in our preferences to purchase gas-guzzling SUVs). Could you clarify? Are you pointing the finger o...

There is a secret exit from the chieftain's room. You don't need a key to get out. Though will have to search for it which can be tough when they're all going aggro on you. There is also a room above the cheiftain's room that is generally safe. Ambar - You're thinking of the SSAT in Split Shield. Di...

Technology to improve Toril
I know this should go in the Ideas forum, but here goes. :) I think Toril should implement the technology in the following article. Gods should each have a pillow and encourage players to purchase them. That way they could give 'hugs' to players when they need it. http://www.nytimes.com/2004/11/11/t...

I think going to a counselor can be a very good thing, particularly in terms of finding new solutions to old problems. We (human beings) often surround ourselves with people who think like we do. That way we feel more comfortable in our daily interactions with them and in living within our own skin....

Wow. I'm stunned at the insightfulness of Gurns's post. I agree totally. After processing what Gurns wrote, I decided that players who are asking 'what next?' have a few decisions to make. Do you play the game for the challenge/conquest/victory or for the society of Toril? The answer to this questio...

Interesting. I like how the story shows a more diverse cross-section of online gamers. It's a nice change from the 'headline grabbers' - EVERQUEST WIDOWS AND THEIR GOOD-FOR-NOTHING SPOUSES - story at 11. It suggests that there are more reasons for gaming than pure addiction/dysfuction. Speaking of w...

How do you improve the gaming experience?
I was reading this article ( http://www.ferrago.com/story/2377 ) and wondered what ideas we might have to improve Toril. I mean 'big picture' game design ideas.. not things like "fix Class X or give spell A to Class C".
What great ideas do you have if Toril was your own personal silly putty?

Is it just me or does this article seem to be common sense.
