You're right -- I would be much happier if there were fewer guilds overall. I would be thrilled if master warriors, rogues, and mage teachers weren't a dime a dozen and available on every corner. Each of these classes is missing out. However, making guilds *more* available just isn't the way to go, ...

I am strongly against this idea. Having everyone teach anyone just cheapens the whole thing. Sure, it might make it easier on some people, but really. How hard is it to walk back to your nearest guild every so often. 'Sides, this idea would even FURTHER reduce traffic to the out of the way towns, be...

Couple thoughts. 1) I find damage determination based on total hp of a player to be pretty cheezy. I have a hunch many agree with me. Sure, it solves the problem... but it just doesn't seem... right. --- 2) Another way to solve the problem: Components. Yeah yeah I won't stop talking about them, I th...

Str and dex are cuumulative, and easy to keep refreshed. Each application gives +4 to the target. I always thought a neat spell would be a one-shot non-cuumulative +x max con (or agi or str or whatever) spell. Say, +6 maxcon, or +8 maxagi. In some circumstances it would fill the role of a psudo-vit,...

I love hunger, thirst and darkness. I wish all three were still a factor beyond the very lowest levels, rather than everyone minor c'ing rations, and carrying around 50 perm light sources. Annoying sometimes? Perhaps. However, I think that it adds a nice little spice to the game, where I have to pla...

Maybe instead of everyone being so polarized on the "to > or not to >" issue, we could come up with some middle ground. I have a hunch that the admins will never remove the > bar. I have absolutly nothing to support my hunch, but mainly wanted to use the word 'hunch' thrice in one paragraph. Some id...

I agree with Tanras. However, if for some reason this does happen, it would be nice to be able to be able to become some other level than 40. Open alpha testing is valuable and all, but in the three weeks I doubt anyone will reach 30. It would be nice to evaluate the performance of a 20th and 30th c...

1) Long ago, I would curse walking into a room with an insane and immediately being killed. Nowadays, I can just "look north" and such, to confirm that my path is clear. This allows someone who is both careful and patient to navigate BS with ease, especially with max wimpy on while walking around. 2...

I could imagine a lot of people in RL who couldn't manage to pick up a decent sized raft made out of wood (which would be fairly heavy). It's not completely beyond imagination that a frail, mage type wouldn't be able to pick one up. Especially lil' gnomies. On the other hand, it is a real pain. For ...

One addendum -- am I the only one who constantly percieves "Average" to be superior to "Fair"? It seems that these two slots should be switched. Then again, I could just be on crack. Also, it would be *really* nice if you folks could color the values according to rank (eg; red for bad, yellow for av...

Today, this encompasses Fair, Good, Mighty, Heoric, and Perfect. I submit that ev...

You stagger from a fearsome hit from ... a sparrow?
Is anyone else bothered by the fact that, as a very low level caster, squirrels, bunnys, rodents, and other assorted fodder are actually doing damage? Maybe I'm alone -- this always really bugged me. I think it detracts from game realism. I've always thought that little things that could be stepped ...

An elementalist and a conjurer really aren't the same thing. One has a great affinity with the elements (or an element, depending), and the other is very good at pulling random stuff from other places. An air elementalist becoming an air elemental isn't such a big deal, because presumably the elemen...

An extention to the "glance all" authored by Yasden above that I think would be helpful would be a "glance <condition>" command, where <condition> would include {all, scratches, few wounds, nasty, awful, incap, mortal, mushy, decomposing, wormy, dust} Ok, maybe not the last few. But a "glance few wo...

In my opinion, anyone executing an "emergency recall" should be locked out of the mud for some (lengthy) amount of RL time -- 12 hours comes to mind. This solves several of the problems outlined in previous posts. Anyone using this command shouldn't really complain about such a downside, after all, ...

I was always under the impression that not all druids were tree huggers. Lots of druids are posting around here -- did you all play forest types? ... and if not, do...

In my opinion, a good solution to the perceived overpowering of invokers would be to include spell components into the world. Personally, I am a fan of components for most (2nd circle+) spells, and I say this as one who will play nothing -but- a mage. To cut down on micromanagement, many spells woul...
