You're right -- I would be much happier if there were fewer guilds overall. I would be thrilled if master warriors, rogues, and mage teachers weren't a dime a dozen and available on every corner. Each of these classes is missing out. However, making guilds *more* available just isn't the way to go, ...

I am strongly against this idea. Having everyone teach anyone just cheapens the whole thing. Sure, it might make it easier on some people, but really. How hard is it to walk back to your nearest guild every so often. 'Sides, this idea would even FURTHER reduce traffic to the out of the way towns, be...

Cherzra:

An average increase of 125% would mean you are causing 225% of your normal damage, on average.

Couple thoughts. 1) I find damage determination based on total hp of a player to be pretty cheezy. I have a hunch many agree with me. Sure, it solves the problem... but it just doesn't seem... right. --- 2) Another way to solve the problem: Components. Yeah yeah I won't stop talking about them, I th...

I like Sarvis' idea of putting skills under different attributes depending on what race is using them. He made an excellent point when he mentioned that barbarians use skills in different ways than elves would.

I have no idea about it's practability, however.

Str and dex are cuumulative, and easy to keep refreshed. Each application gives +4 to the target. I always thought a neat spell would be a one-shot non-cuumulative +x max con (or agi or str or whatever) spell. Say, +6 maxcon, or +8 maxagi. In some circumstances it would fill the role of a psudo-vit,...

I love hunger, thirst and darkness. I wish all three were still a factor beyond the very lowest levels, rather than everyone minor c'ing rations, and carrying around 50 perm light sources. Annoying sometimes? Perhaps. However, I think that it adds a nice little spice to the game, where I have to pla...

We could always beg for a "Do not disturb" toggle.

Not quite afk, but also not conducive to "Where am I?", "Can you give me rations? I'm in WD", "My stomach hurts", and "Wow, you are cool!"

Well, maybe not the last one. But you get the picture.

I agree with Tanras. However, if for some reason this does happen, it would be nice to be able to be able to become some other level than 40. Open alpha testing is valuable and all, but in the three weeks I doubt anyone will reach 30. It would be nice to evaluate the performance of a 20th and 30th c...

I could imagine a lot of people in RL who couldn't manage to pick up a decent sized raft made out of wood (which would be fairly heavy). It's not completely beyond imagination that a frail, mage type wouldn't be able to pick one up. Especially lil' gnomies. On the other hand, it is a real pain. For ...

You stagger from a fearsome hit from ... a sparrow?

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that, as a very low level caster, squirrels, bunnys, rodents, and other assorted fodder are actually doing damage? Maybe I'm alone -- this always really bugged me. I think it detracts from game realism. I've always thought that little things that could be stepped ...

An elementalist and a conjurer really aren't the same thing. An air elementalist becoming an air elemental isn't such a big deal, because presumably the elemen...

(shift-tab autocompletes whatever you type in using the recent history received from the mud. Ie if you see "Fizxcioua group-says: heal me!", type "fiz", hit shift-tab, and zmud will finish it for 'ya. Nifty.)

In my opinion, a good solution to the perceived overpowering of invokers would be to include spell components into the world.
