Re: Sad News: Cardolan/Garal/Kossuth/etc.
It's crazy. No matter how long I've been away from the digital land of 1's and 0's the people from this place really had a huge impact on where I am today. I had the luxury of knowing Jason in person when I lived out in Cali (before he was married). Easily the most friendly and easy to like guy on t...

Combat is going to CHANGE. There will be plenty of buffs to go around, but one of my major assumptions is that tanking ability is finally going to rest on the skill of the FIGHTER instead of the skill of the ENCHANTER. So your ideas about what a caster NEEDS to operate are probably going to change ...

Casters with high crit rate gonna own with these spells. That could be a player (ogre shaman) or mobs: giants, demons, dragons etc. Assuming that 2.0 follows tabletop in this area, crit rate will be based on the weapon type, or enhancement to said weapon, rather than some amalgam of stats. As such,...

I have to imagine things will stay the same as far as age is concerned. Although what would be interesting is to see 'venerable ages' implimented. This is where the older you get your physical stats decrease and your mental stats such as Wisdom and Int increase ;) I would have to imagine that in the...

All those whacked out numbers and racial statistics that you don't see now for each race are going to be totally transparrent in 2.0 from what Shevy has said, so the dwarf and human are going to be EQUALLY good at tanking. A dwarf might happen to have the potential to have a few more hitpoints per l...

As far as things sound so far I bet you can take those spells to the bank Cirath. Loads of buffs in 3.5 and I figure loads of options. I for one can't wait to start pouring over the spell lists! (Hurry up Shevy!) ;) Don't know if you have any idea but you DO realize that MOST of the damage done in a...

Melee can still whup ass in a no magic zone, in a silence, and in long drawn out fights. But as it stands the TRUE power houses of any fantasy setting are the spell casters with the except...

I agree with Cirath, the logic would seem to fall in line with how things have been done in the past with area spells. Why take steps backwards by implimenting damaging players. I suppose the easiest logic is that wizards in tabletop have enough control to toss a fireball to only hit the enemies and...

Will the specialist mages get to choose their opposing schools, or will their access be pre-determined? I would have to assume all 'Wizards' have the option of choosing their 2 opposed schools just like in 3.5 to become a 'specialist' on the MUD. So your Abjuration Specialist (fit the roll of 'prot...

How will radius spells work exactly? Does it just pick mobs at random up to a spell-based limit, or does it pick them by order in the list of mobs? Will size matter? Let's not mince words here... now you are saying Rangers don't stack up to a 12th level Druid or Cleric. I could have easily told you that. In fact there is not a single class that can stand up to a 7th level cleric/druid/wizard with a full compliment of spells. (Ok, now this sounds more like a piss...

Ragorn is correct. And as far as the number go this is purely "in theory" but I'm simply applied how things work in 3.5 and made an educated guess at how things *might* look if taken in a literal sense. I can see the trend so far that things have followed 3.5 to the letter mechanics wise for feats a...
