Actually, fireshield/coldshield absorbs some of the physical damage as well as dealing it back. Test it out sometime. It's not much, but if they hit you for 200 hp, they would've hit you for 250 or so without the shield on from my tests. That has saved my life on a couple occasions with my low-hp in...

Invokers do get a defensive spell. We get fire/coldshield 5th circle. If you use them versus don't use them, it makes a BIG difference. Invokers are balanced on the extreme of offense vs. defense. Changing them would have to add defense, but it'd ruin the point of having invokers at all. We'd end up just like another illusionist/elementalist class in between the extremes.

Perhaps your argument should go the other way and ask to have specializations added to the melee classes, Daz.

Downgrades in spells would only hurt the people with less eq...a small upgrade in melee damage wouldn't kill anyone as long as they don't become monks.

I'd suggest you play an invoker before you ask for them to be downgraded.

An invoker lasts <3 rounds in second gatehouse of jot without a good stoner,healer, and warriors. You can't cast 1 inferno in that time.

The problem with this situation is jenera's an invoker and we get no defensive spells.

This would go into the enchanter's spell set if anyones, and we all know those "stinkin magi" are busy enough in big fights....or would you rather they disrupt spells and not stone your paladin instead?

Didn't know they got 5 hp/lvl past 25. Cool, I wish I got that. I'm assuming if MH dwarves could be elementalists like they used to be conjies, they'd get 5hp/lvl then too.

It's more like a non-required class asking for the damage of a spell to match the difficulty of the long annoying quest.....It won't make people suddenly take us zoning places they don't now and it's not going to make or break any groups.....Fell Frost really doesn't factor in.

Bah just don't bother getting it. Lots on invokers I know don't have it and get by just fine. Not worth the items nor the time involved unless you're REALLY bored. Spend the time on inferno quest instead.
