Yeah, well, I'd be working on it right now if I weren't having a problem with my isp blocking the use of ssh. That means I can't connect to the server to upload, download, or edit files. There is a ton of stuff I've been unable to do because of this. We've got someone trying to finish up an area on ...

Rather then making a section on our bbs, there was a google group made and a bunch of information posted to it about one of the larger projects (other then 2.0) going on. Other then the initial information posted there, nothing has been added mainly due to nothing needing updated and no other projec...

The eq calculator isn't used nearly as strictly as it was when it was first introduced. It was a good concept, but as everyone can see it can be easily abused. It is now used as more of a guideline and we use the old method (which still isn't prefect) of going with our gut feeling on how hard fights...

03/02/05 [Cyric] Random Areas Changes - Yes we're hard at work on converting and bringing in Homeland zones, but we're not forgetting our old zones at all! About 20 minor changes introduced today with 2 new super-rare items added to venerable older zones. Enjoy. Granted, that says nothing about whi...

There is an areas section of the bbs, but I think, and I'm not positive about this, that its lumped in with the other staff forums. I like your thoughts about making it have its own group so it can be accessable to people outside of the staff who are dealing with areas. I'll chat with shev when I ca...

Nothing in your last post was taken personally at all. In fact, I thought it was a well thought out post. If players have reason to suspect that one of the staff members is guilty of leaking information or otherwise failing to try to improve the game, no matter what sphere they are in, then please l...

Yeah, especially when you can't get your liaison to actually meet at the time they set 2 times in a row. Guilty as charged. I suck at making appointments on time. Anymore, I wait till I can be online and have time to do something before asking the writer if they have the time to do anything. OLC wi...

I don't know how many people used OLC on Homeland, but wow was that sweet and painless. OLC obviously has many benifits. It takes a fraction of the time to dig rooms, write descriptions, create items, and everything else associated with zone writing. But the real major benifit is that you wouldn't ...

We're not done yet. Sadly its taken me far to long to get the devices done (darn hard drives kept crashing as I started working on it), but it was the first thing many of the players thought needed fixed with the zone. There are still some other tricks being added to prevent people from 2/3 manning ...

If you go with an Intel Core 2 CPU, you likely won't need a large/loud CPU heat sink. I've seen reviews where they even unplugged the CPU fan and put the system under a full load for hours on end and it ran stable. For quiet CPU coolers, I've always been fond of products from Zalman, tho I'm sure th...

Load rate for Phiraz was set pretty so. Bumped it up a tad. The way Faralee loads was changed. She will load more often, but it can be any time throughout the boot. There were changes to the load rate of muspel invasion a long time ago which likely made the last two stages way too rare. Hopefully th...

Actually, this was talked about and I thought it was going to happen, but something else must have come up and it hasn't gotten done yet. What I suggested then on how the object changes forum would be run is: Players would not be allowed to start new threads, but rather any time an object is changed...

Mkay, so.. How’s this: 1) Remove the frost giants on the upper and the small part of the lower grid and let the fire giants roam the entire upper and lower grid areas. (Leave the three giant patrols?) 2) Remove the area where the giants are fighting each other. 3) Return Glammad back to his former l...

Umm.. why would someone need to race to see if invasion loaded if it becomes something you can pop at will when you have the time and people set to do it? You won't have to try to quickly form groups or find people to lead it because the group/leader would likely be the ones that loaded the invasion...

Ok, I know this is a rare pop zone, and that's part of the problem. Fully understand that. That is why I asked for suggestions on making it not rare, but based on something that is specific like a certain uptime, or a long quest that pits the fire and frost giants against eachother eventually leadin...

Get off yer collective "It's being worked on" and start providing real details. It's not hard to summarize what exactly is being worked on, or to come up with a few details of the work without compromising it. You pretty much answered your own question. Invasion was changed to make it hard again and worthy of 15 level 50 players spending thier time to do it. I tried not to destroy what the original invasion was, while still adding difficulty and newer gear that most people would like to get their hands on...
