It is neither Alendar. Yuan-Ti illusionist guildroom is actually set in the gloomhaven zone due to a shortage of vnums in the Yuan-Ti hometown.

Not to burst any bubbles, or confirm or deny well, anything, but the proc on those gauntlets was written by a combined effort between Mielikki and Dugmaren. In short, well before Toril 2.0 was conceived and initiated. Though I will agree they do seem well suited to somebody who doesn't wield a weapon.

They were single-file originally. While I didn't orchestrate the change, it was likely changed to remove exactly that sort of strategy. You may mudmail areas to petition to have the change reversed if you wish.

There are other means to present a 'blocked' message than single-file as well.

Thilindel,

You had a saving throw against a single beam. You failed the saving throw, and the consequences of such was death.

The easing up mentioned in the news is the fact that, had you made that saving throw, you wouldn't have subsequently been hit with a force missiles and full harm beam.

The loop was bugged - basically it was trying to blind the same thing once for every mob in the room. On the bright side, you could be reasonably certain with that many mobs... that the first one was going to be blind :)

There's no bug present - if you attempt to get something while riding, there is a check to see if you manage to do so while staying mounted. By inputting the get command, you are attempting to retrieve something from the ground - whether or not the item specified is actually there.
