The original plan was to have zones put in where those dead ends are, but that fell through. We're going to remove some or most of the dead ends until other zones can be put. No time frame on this currently, but it is on the list.

From what I've gathered reading this, not all weapons will be able to receive enchants. It will likely depend on some kind of keyword or quality number or something given to the item that sets it apart from other items.

The eq calculator isn't used nearly as strictly as it was when it was first introduced. It was a good concept, but as everyone can see it can be easily abused. It is now used as more of a guideline and we use the old method (which still isn't prefect) of going with our gut feeling on how hard fights...

It is buggy code, but not in the way you think. There is a down exit in that room that something must be triggered to open up. Bug is that things pass through the exit without it first being unblocked. Kinda like the bug that Mertak experienced.

I emailed Zugg about this the last time he had the auction for the icons and suggested that he do two auctions. One for the company owned and pay-to-play muds, and one for the smaller privatly owned muds. I never got a reply, so I'm guessing he just blew it off. *shrug*

Groups of mobs have been formed on the grids to aid in clearing things faster.
The beards have been made a little easier to prevent casting.
Finally, the gloves have had something added.

The two golems were something the maker had asked to be added, then after the file was moved, said that they weren't needed after all, so the changes stayed in place. The golems have been removed now though and the file set to be moved next time files get moved.

These changes likely won't happen for a few weeks, but will start working on them right after I finish helping get most of the kinks out of a new zone that is almost ready to go in.

If I have nothing to do but sit and keep a close eye on the screen, I'll go vis for awhile.

Umm.. why would someone need to race to see if invasion loaded if it becomes something you can pop at will when you have the time and people set to do it? You won't have to try to quickly form groups or find people to lead it because the group/leader would likely be the ones that loaded the invasion...

Bleh, you changed your post after I replied to it. Anyway.. I do believe this can be a 4-6 hour zone to finish once people work though what makes things happen. Overall the zone hasn't changed a whole lot from what it used to be, or at least I tried not to change it too much from what it used to be....

You pretty much answered your own question. Invasion was changed to make it hard again and worthy of 15 level 50 players spending thier time to do it. I tried not to destroy what the original invasion was, while still adding difficulty and newer gear that most people would like to get their hands on...
