Merry New Year!

On the Chinese callender what number are we up to? 5k something? I love the Chinese civilization, sooo much history... (I'm a history guy, obviously not an English guy as my spelling and grammar sucks)

I was actually going with Chinese pre-history. Prior to the first "dynasty" and any semblance of an actual China as we currently think of it, it was mythos to be ruled by successive benevolent philosopher emperors Yao, and Shun. There is currently no archaelogical evidence to their actual existence, but the myth is likely what said game is based on.

My last chinese history class was taken way back during elementary school but I'll boldly say that I'm well informed of it perhaps even better than some native graduates.

*bump*

My roommate really gets a kick out of the Shockwave flash animation on this page. He's a bum, though. He won't teach me any Cantonese.

Oh well, happy new year, folks.

Well first off i'd like to wish you all a Happy New Year.

But i was wondering whats the deal with the red envelopes? Is it customary to give out money or something? Im always interested in cultural traditions:)

Happy New Year

Postby Keka » Mon Feb 03, 2003 4:22 pm

Happy New Years everyone... I was celebrating it big time in Toronto this past weekend with some friends. Toronto has such a huge asian population!

For those who are curious about your chinese horoscope, there's a guy who's been doing all the predictions in Toronto for the major papers for years... here's his site.
