Interestingly as corporate pressure continues to increase on the networks, there seem to be more and more post-season series stretching to seven games as opposed to sweeps, regardless of the sport (for those sports that play series that is). Ah, money, she makes the world go round.

Don't be so quick to pencil in the Lakers and write off the Nets. The Nets have better depth than the Lakers and present the same type of matchup problems that the Kings did.

However, the Kings have more experience, especially playoff experience, than the Nets. But if Derek Fisher thought Mike Bibby was a handful, he's going to be driven insane by MVP Jason Kidd.

I don't know if its the greatest basketball playoff ever..that's debatable.

I still remember Magic's babyhook over the Celtics back in the 80s. The Laker-Celtic rivalry was very good.

Nonetheless, very exciting series. Oh god..I can picture those Lakers flag-one on each side..flapping away on the 405 while I sit in traffic :P

Go Lakers!

hey i think there is something to corporate pressure semi conspiracy theory. when you get rewarded for something you tend to try and reproduce the conditions.

ie if your corporation makes out, you do conscious and unconscious thinks to recreate the scenario. Maybe you tend to pick refs who dont always call the game the same way because it improves ratings and hype.

I would agree with Turxx that the players played all out, but Id suggest you can affect the outcome of a game without using players directly.

and for all those doubters and kings > lakers ect... maybe you were right, but phil wins championships. your only mistake was not realizing kings were playing phil not the chokers.

Yeah, I guess it was a pretty exciting series. Living in Folsom, I was pulling for Sacramento and went to the last game. This will be a good learning experience for the Kings. Hopefully, they can keep the nucleus of the team together. At least they know that they have what it takes to hang with the Lakers. I don't know the exact stats, but i would like to see what the Kings' free throw percentage was for that series. You have to make the gimmies. Oh well, off my soapbox for now.

Go Kings! (This is not your momma's cowtown)

Vlade Divoc stands here, puffing on a cigarette.
Peja stands here, leaning on a crutch.
Mike Bibby stands here, beating his chest.
Dave Christie stands here, pointing at the sky for some unknow reason.

It has begun Kolma! I was on the 405/10 today.. and I saw at least 20-25 cars with the doubled lakers flags. ROFL.

Anyways... GO LAKERS!!! Image
