Bah, Its not important. As long as your not using Frodo or Luke no one realy cares. Heck, theres someone posting under Me who we seem to tolerate most of the time (dont know why though =P)

Heh .. I've read the entire series like 3 times (granted it was awhile ago) and don't remember the name. I don't think you need to bother with a change. Image

I've read it twice, don't recall the name.

Don't worry bout it.

Rand, on the other hand, could be a problem. Image

I've read the series 3-4 times, and don't recall it. Bout the closest your name resembles, and it's not really even close.. Is Dalamar, from Dragonlance.

At the time I rolled Ragorn, I had never read The Hobbit or any of the other Lord of the Rings books. It wasn't until I was level 15 or 16 that someone told me Tolkien had a ranger named Aragorn. It's come up a few times since then, but I don't think people immediately associate me with Tolkien's homey anymore Image

Hmm. You all read "Wheel of Time" that many times? I lost interest after the first couple books. I wish Jordan would return to writing Conan, his Conan novels are amazing.

If you want to read a real epic fantasy series, check out the Song of Fire and Ice series by George R.R. Martin (first book is A Game of Thrones); best series to come along in decades, fantasy wise.

Another good series is the 'Runelords' by David Farland.. His writing style is utterly mesmerizing.

Will have to check that out Malacar.

I'd also recommend Jack Vance. A good fantasy book by Vance is "Tales of the Dying Earth"; in particular the Cugel chapters...

It's sad how few people know of him, and he's up there with Sturgeon, Asimov and Heinlein.

My favorite all time fantasy/sci-fi novel is "Treason" by Orson Scott Card.

Imagine my suprise when I first read Tolken and saw the similarities between my favorite D&D character Rilbo Raggins and one of tolkens major characters.

Ah, so my name is being mocked by random people I've never met. Awesome.
