I was wondering if anyone had information on the exp tables for Soj3. It would be nice to have something in between the 3 days to 50 of Duris and the 3+ months to 50 of Soj1. Soj1 was tough, especially for the support classes that don't get much damage exp.

Exp tables
Aye.. I hope exp is more rounded this time around. Given that playing a hitter or nuker makes exp fast, and playing a support class makes it go abysmally slow... Just want to see some sort of beef up on support class exp.

PS - I don't want to see the exp tables personally... Though given that we can see exp now, I'm almost positive some will surface eventually.

Given that we can see exp now, I suspect you'll see more than just exp tables surface. I don't doubt that you'll see exp list of what mobs are worth.
I _REALLY_ wish they'd reconsider this visable exp thing.
But to the topic, I'd be more in favor of it taking 6 months to a year for even the best player to reach 50.

I agree about the exp thing, Gind 150%..
Though, even balancing every mob on the mud, some players will always find a way around it. Perfect balance is a myth, you'll not find that in any game, anywhere. Coming close, though, that's the real goal. I think the gods are taking real strides to get to that point.

Exp on Sojourn 2 was too easy IMHO. If you really wanted it you could be 50 in 3 months.
And yes, thats 3 months from opening day.
I think Thruar hit 50 at 2 months 23 days after opening date last time.
Making exp anything easier would just make the mud more boring.
Being level 50 should mean something, and on sojourn you never NEEDED to get 50 to have fun like on duris/basternae.

ps. I got my enchanter to level 50, so I know that support classes are a bit rougher, but thats why they are so damn powerful.

Bah! AD&D and other PnP RPGs have been around longer than sojourn/toril. Those players have always had access to their current exp levels and exp tables. Many even had access to monster exp knowledge. Did that mean there were never any RPers in PnP games? No way, man. People who wanna/like to RP are going to. Those who dont, wont. It has nothing to do with visible exp. By arguing against it, you're just throwing out an option available to those who want it. Ways to not see it have already been suggested. Just my 2 cents on a silly debate.

I did exp a lot for about 10 hours a day with a core group. I bath everyday, I get my normal 6-7 hours a sleep a day and eat my 3 meals a day, just that I didn't have anything else to do at the time was going to school. The first two or so months I focused all on exp get to level 45 and exp more when there were nothing else to do until more players logged on then it was a lot of EQ runs for the group took about 3 weeks to setup before jot. The task was kind of easy because how silly invokers were. Would not have been done for an extra month if monks were to replace those invokers
But after level about 46 or so just didn't focused on exp as much, I died very little doing all those zones to hit close to 49, then did 1 night of exp to get it from the black wizzards in Moonshaes. I heard they downgraded those mob levels but who cared I got my 50 lol! Main point is exp is not very hard, at least for people who don't sit around in WD all day. You'd be surpsied exp 4 hours a day for those that has to work you still get the levels. Get together and do something, explore die a lot get the knowledge, do exp to get your levels then worry about eq. pwipe is the best time to do this when everyone is as low level as you!
At the time the people I had a chance to play with on that pwipe one time or another. If I left out any names I apologize. Myself, Dhurn, Jhorr, Kneth(marforp), Mplor, Visae, Dizahk, Lekar(later went to lead evils after I quit), Roktar(went with Lekar),Silverast, my good friend Ave! Sednel(Brog?), Reis, Masrik, Khalil, Tanras, Waelos, Gurns, Tasaej. Basically that was what made up of the mud. I think Mplor, Dizahk, later on Lekar had good ability to lead, there were just not as many people willing to lead full time as to the pwipe before that there were so many leaders. I just have the feeling this pwipe going to be interesting from what I've read so far on this BBS names poping up again with Mikar, Trogar, Mplor, Ilshadrial and (DWV), and myself, many other names I'm sure.
