I dont really need any help (yet), but I figured that I should probably check in here and say hello. I've played the same mud for a few years now (which will remain unnamed), but I do not like the direction it is heading, so its time for me to find a new place to hang my hat. This place came highly recommended, so here I am.
I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you out there.

I'm headed to the guides after I browse the forums. Thanks for the advice.
I already have my first question (even though I'm not in game right now). Anyone have a suggestion for a good free client to play with other than basic telnet? The one I was using for the other mud I played will not work (it could probably be tricked into working, but I dont really have the time or the immediate technical knowlage to do it myself). I'm looking for something with a pretty simple user interface that will do sound triggers and maybe have an auto-mapper (not necessary though, I can always use pen and paper).
Thanks for any help. I'm sure I'll have more questions than anyone wants to hear very very soon.

This might help you somewhat too. It's a listing of mud clients and what they run on. Complete with links.

Zmud 3.62 is available officially from www.zuggsoft.com
It is an older 16bit basic version of zmud, an awesome mud client with a really good and practical familiar windows interface. It does most of the things most users of zmud do anyhow, and will be more than enough to get you addicted here. From the main page click on DOWNLOADS and then ZMUD. Welcome aboard!
