School of Rock came out, Jack Black as his butt-rock luvin' self. Thumb up.

Honorable mention for last week:
Lost in Translation: a must-see Bill Murray comedy drama for anyone who's spent time in japan, just freakin' great

I'm looking forward to 'kill bill'. Been hearing some good stuff about it..
Having said all that, the situation has been handled, so this thread is pretty much at an end. -Kossuth

I was really looking forward to this also, but Uma thurman is going to ruin it. 1) she looks like a chick "trying" to be a bad ass. Which shouldn't be a problem for an actor...she should be bad ass, not try.
2) she can't hold a sword worth a shit and you can tell by the previews.

the movie will rock in the scenes without her and be mediocre in the scenes with her in them.

I'd hope that after 6 months of kung-fu training they would all know how to wield a sword. Kill Bill looks to be pretty sweet.

After 6 months you can almost pretend to know how to hold one; yes, but after you put uma and lucy in the same room, you will notice just how much of a novice uma is and it will ruin the movie...from the previews it also seems that uma thurman's facial expresions seem to be, well, crappy. She did good in pulp fiction, but I don't think any of her previous experience or acting talents justified her getting this role.

The movie idea is cool, the rest of the movie looks cool...uma sucks.

Saw school of rock, was mildly entertaining but it made me chuckle pretty much throughout the movie, but I can't recall any huge laughs. It was worth the discount ticket.
