Go the Wallabies!

Postby ssar » Fri Nov 21, 2003 1:43 am

Well, the wallabies have come good right when they needed to, in the Rugby World Cup 2003..
The oh so sweeeeeet ass-kicking of the New Zealand All Blacks last weekend will hopefully be followed up mightily with a win in the Final this Saturday night over the Poms!

---

A guy walks into a bar with a dachshund under his arm. The dog is wearing a England rugby jersey and is festooned with England pom-poms.

The bartender says, "Hey! No pets are allowed! You'll have to leave."

The guy begs him, "Look, I'm desperate! We're both big fans, the TV's broken at home, and this is the only place around where we can see the game."

After securing a promise that the dog will behave, and warning him that he and the dog will be thrown out if there's any trouble, the bartender relents and allows them to stay in the bar and watch the game.

The big game begins with the poms receiving the kickoff. They march down field, get stopped at the 22, and kick a penalty goal.

Suddenly, the dog jumps up on the bar and begins walking up and down the bar giving high-fives to everyone.

The bartender says, "Wow, that is the most amazing thing I've seen! What does the dog do if they score a try?"

The owner replies, "I don't know, I've only had him for three years."

I'm in Northampton, UK at the moment and the kick-off is at 9.00am on Saturday. So I'm off to the pub to have beer and breakfast, then to stick it up the cocky English twats when they lose. They're so up themselves at the moment believing they are going to win when they haven't beaten Australia in ANY major sporting event for over a decade. They even lost to the Australians in the soccer earlier this year!

Cruk(mmm beer for breakfast) :P

Well, I'm Scottish, so obviously being so close to England every single one of us will be supporting Australia.

We'll be singing our favourite song - We hate England more than you!

I just bet $10 on Aust to beat Eng by 13 or more points, at a rate of $4.90 to $1.00.

Hopefully my recent betting success will continue on from last weekend - $10 on Aust to beat NZ, at a rate of $2.90 to $1.00.
(Wish I had put $100 on, heh).

If the Wallaby backs hold the ball, run some good crisp varied plays, I beleive they could win by 20 or 30 points.

Kickass final game.. into overtime and all!
It's a shame the conditions were not dry, but still, a great RWC!
Even tho England won, it is good to see, and good to see they are actually world champions at at least one major sport, finally.

Next stop, RWC France 2007..

I disagree. It is never good to see England win.

Was listening to a Scottish football phone in tonight.
Some Scottish guy said 'I'm going to be supporting England in Euro 2004 next year.
There was silence... and you could sense a punchline coming.
'Because I'm a jinx'

What a great game! We had our league game afterwards and went out with all sorts of Brit ruggers... crazy.

They shut the pubs an hour early in England.
