Gandalf was a ranger?

Postby chandigar » Tue Dec 30, 2003 11:24 pm

This came to mind because we were chatting about ROTK in acc the other day and someone (who was alting a ranger) said that Aragorn musta been a warrior really, because my guildie couldn't tank squat.

With that in mind, I propose that Gandalf was really a ranger.

1. He dual wields (staff and sword)

2. He has mounted combat, but he doesn't appear to be very good at it.

3. He tried to tank the Balrog and was the only one who died that fight.

4. He doesn't cast any spells other than what looks like variants of 'light' and possibly 'mage flame'.

5. He wears light armor and/or no armor.

6. He likes to smoke the halfling weed.

Granted, he didn't use any archery, but then thats because he was probably an early Soj2 Ranger.

Your love of the half-lings leaf has clearly slowed your mind!

Gandalph is like... kinda like an angel, man. Hes like, well... old. "three hundred ages of man" by his counting. (or is it thirty? just watched it.. oh well)

No, gandalph is not a ranger, hes just a badass.

"Ranger" _means_ badass! ;)

Funny list though... and was thinking that myself watching gandalf fight in Minas Tirith.

Seriously, Arwen wields more powerful magic...

Arwen?

If you are referring to the waterfalls, it's plainly stated in the book that they were under the influence of Elrond's magic, that could merely be invoked by any Elf living in Rivendell.

Other than that... Arwen doesn't really do squat magic-wise.

And Gandalf wouldn't even be a ranger by that list. You misused 'ranger' where you should have used 'Amolol'.
