A date of significance

Postby ssar » Thu May 05, 2005 1:11 am

This morning, it was:

05:05:05 05/05/05

This afternoon at 17:05 hours, it is also 05:05:05 05/05/05 in the PM when using the AM/PM system.

Such events of numerical convergence make for significant moments in time, even if they last for only 1 second at a time.

This kind of convergence will occur only 7 more times in our lifetimes (06/06/06, 07/07/07, up to 12/12/12), so enjoy them while we can!

Watch out for strange things happening.

This morning, in fact, there was apparently a meteor shower through "eta Aquarids" visible from certain areas on earth, including ours..

I heard some rumours today that this was visible this evening from 5:00pm for an hour or 2, and tomorrow morning (Fri), but I think they might have been mistaken.
I did happen to get up at 05:00 and hung outside (with Bronte) for several minutes taking in the wonderful night sky vista, but alas, even with careful scrutiny could not discern even the faintest evidence of meteor shower activity.

I survived this significant instant in time, though.

There are a whole lot of things that will happen only once or a few times in our lifetime which are entirely more significant.

For instance, I will soon hit 600 days of ptime!

Corth, you define ptime quite loosely being that only about 16 of those days were actually spent playing. The rest was afk time with random ooc 'flip' interventions.

I'm an OOC whore.. what can I say. I used to look down upon those sorts of people until I became one myself. Obviously, its much more impressive than it seems.

And yet, no mention of Haiku day?
Yotus group-says 'special quest if you type hi dragon'
Shevarash OOC: 'I feature only the finest mammary glands.'
Silena group-says 'he was so fat and juicy..couldnt resist'
