When we snuck in we were greeted warmly given some food and told to get the hell out and stay out. Sadly Hei made the mistake of giving us food so we kept sneeking in to get more food. :p

ahhh, well Jenera, *IF* I were to come to the gathering and you rejected my help in the kitchen, I would expect you to at least accept my contribution of $100 bux for the grub and beverages. It's only fair for your kind hospitality, no? :) and if you didn't feel comfortable with that, I'd say tough shit!!!

Really though, I hope things go well for you and that you don't get so stressed out from all the planning. Take the help if people are willing to give it; so that you have the energy to socialize and have fun, too!

Sundara, I always make donations anonymous and not required. Of course I always appreciate that people are willing to help us out but I always remember that everyone who comes pays for their own travel costs and some pay for hotels. That's pricey enough without me standing there demanding money. By the time the last gathering was over, I found money in the donation jar, my coat pocket, my pants pocket, and other random areas from people and I could never figure out who gave how much, which in my opinion is a good thing.

And yes, I did make the mistake of giving Rer and Pril a taste of the food I was making before chasing them out with my wooden spoon. But everytime I turned around, there were these eyes staring at me and then the food forlornly. I have to be meaner this time.

That's fine.. you can be meaner this time, but that doesn't mean I have to be.. that forlorn, hungry look in Pril's beautiful blue eye's.. well some of us can't resist :P

tangent vision...

I can see it now. Everyone is gathered around the computer screen waiting to see what scrolls past next. While waiting, someone throws an empty soda can at Insertnamehere and he/she turns to the wielder of the can and says... 'Insert*MUD*namehere, if this weren't RL, I'd pwn your sorry butt.' Wielder of can says 'You talk big. For a ranger'.

/tangent vision...

retarded question ...do/will you guys call each other by mud names? If so, I'm not sure I can go. That just opens up a whole new can labeled "weird"... I've NEVER called a mudder by their mudname, irl.... *cough* especially because I temporarily forgot their given name, or related to them simply as their mud character... never... not even... countless... times. :(

Well other than the 3 or was it 4 mike's that were there last time, it was real names.. but we did introduce ourselves with realname and mud name, just so you had a clue as to who you were talkin to :)

I'd prolly go with the mudnames. I'm horrible with RL names, well, i'm horrible with mud names, too....but, it's a Toril mud gathering, so mud names it is.

........ohh and I'd arrive dressed up in my clerical gear, chainmail, helm, bone smasher (my mace), holy symbol of my diety and the whole works and check if anyone is wounded, even tho I really couldn't fully divinely heal them. Band-aides and what not would have to do.

Regards,

Sundara

p.s. but then I'd quickly change into my regular clothes before my flight home, cuz I mean, that's just rediculous if I didn't, right?! :)

EDIT: Mudnames for the guys, real names for the girls, unless you ladies have hotter mud names.
EDIT: Sundara, i'm so not showering for weeks before hand and then gettin' on a plane in normal troll attire just for the rediculousnessity.

ok so i've been reading up on OOTS, and I finally read #207

Cheers Amolol!!!

Pril!!! what you suggest only implies that you may be a corrupted paladin! If that is true, that must mean your divine spells have been stripped away thus unable to heal yourself.

Meet me in my office for a physical check-up! It will only take 5 minutes as I have other patients to attend to so this "doctor" business will not take all day long like you thought. ;-)

OK, I've had enough pouting. You guys are right, as a hostess, I need to socialize more than running around picking up trash, cooking, making sure everyone has drinks and know where the bathroom is. We'll see when the time comes, but I guess I will allow more people into my kitchen. But more than likely, I won't be having a whole bunch of food prepared since it will be hot out. More like a whole bunch of nibbles and appetizers so people can pick and choose while talking and hanging out. The last gathering was in the winter so Duna and I made a lot of hearty comfort food. Perhaps instead of turning my thread into Pril and Sundara's personal playground *tease*, you guys can start suggesting some foods you'd like to see. I was thinking of getting some vegetable trays and dip, perhaps some fruit trays as well, and by request, I will be making my crab rangoon again, but if there is anything else, start posting.

but he started it :P

btw, I am not going to the gathering; I was only saying that if I "were" to go, you'd have an extra helping domestical hand wether it's to cook or clean, etc. :) From your posts; I gathered you were one tired panda with a touch of stress. =p I'm sure Pril, however, can tell you what kind of foods he'd like to see if he's going. Maybe he wants to see doctors?!? gee, I dunno...:P

Ask Maxler how long it took me to call him by his real name once I met him. *snicker*

Hoping like heck I can come, but not absolutely sure. Darn hubby INSISTS I go to our oldest daughter's graduation one month before. What an evil man. No wonder we're married. *grin*

Derek/Hei, congratz on finally moving forward here!

I'm glad I am a little late on this and missed the "its off/its on" drama! Despite the fact that I barely have time to be online, I will be making every effort to be there! I doubt I'll have to drive in with Mike this time - dont think I'll have any choice but to fly the way work is looking now...

For those of you who dont remember, I took a new job back in the spring with a consulting firm. They assigned me to a contract in MD in August, so I have been flying from Denver to Baltimore every Sunday, and back every Friday. The plus side is that I have almost 40,000 miles on United in the last 2.5 months (WOOHOO frequent flyer!) but it does make it hard to do much other than work. Especially because the nature of my work precludes internet access at the office, where I spend the vast majority of my time in MD. So, when I actually have a chance to get drunk, play golf, see a movie, play in the park, punch Pril, get laid, etc on the weekend, that takes priority.

I'll get online to chat with ya'll when I can, but when I can't, I'll try to be better about dropping in here to see what's going on!

Hrm, Pril was saying those are the same thing :p

Doubting very much that I'll be able to make it out there again this time unless there is a major shift at work and my best friend's wedding doesn't fall around the same time. I have to be the best man for that, so will trump every other plan I might make. (BTW, me in a tux looks like "The Little Penguin that Could")

Eventually, I will make it out for one of the gatherings (assuming Hei and Derek keep having them). As it is, I might actually run the risk of meeting Pril and Rer when my friend gets married since he lives in Denver.

I can count on half of a hand the number of people from the mud that I have met IRL, I'd like to someday make it at least as high as I can count to nekkid (21) :p

If I can actually make it out there, it will end up being more of a surprise to me than it will to you :)

Naah, Kifle and I were just "beer" talking. Yasden was talking about milk on a stick and Salen says he's got fast green pants, eh, whatever that may mean.

Kifle: Yo no estoy segura que yo peuda ir a la junta de toril, pero si tu vas, porfavor disfruta de la fiesta por mi y has de cuenta que mi espiritu esta con ustedes!

Translation: I'm not certain I can go to the toril gathering, but if you go, please enjoy the party for me and just think that i'm there in spirit!

so what you asked in spanish was:

"Tu quieres leche con mi palo?"

"Would you like milk with my stick?"

con = with
-----------------------------------------------------

"Would you like some milk from my stick?"

Translation: "Tu queires un poco de leche de mi palo?"

I'm sounding just as bad as the grammer patrols. I'm gonna stop with the spanish lessons or start charging for my services! ;-)

you do know that your spanish is a bit off though, right? some things you can still understand tho! *whap* but what were you saying about my spirit exactly?? and no, money isn't the problem, I have other personal plans. :)

Yasden, that must be a different dialect as Kifle so kindly pointed out because con doesn't mean from in spanish.
