gormal, the turtle won the race.

I'm not a moron like the rabbit and sleeping.

You know I actually had a discussion with a friend about that story. Slow and steady does not win the race... fast and not fucking retarded does. Its not about the determined turtle overcoming adversity... its about a dumbshit rabbit being more cocksure of himself than Dartan.

the turtle encourages you to continue to presevere when the odds are against you. when things are tough, you keep hacking away. tiamat seems like an impossibility, but if you continue to throw bodies at it, she will fall. why oh why couldn't i learn this while i was in college? probably cuz i was a dumbass.

hey gormal you know how to post pic on the bbs? if so think i can email you some pic to post on here?

i'm in a union. didn't you see the 20/20 special on schools. did you see the gauntlet it requires to fire a teacher. let me even i was impressed, and i dont impress that easy. so instead of going through the gauntlet, they have whats call a rubber room, it's a building where they send these teachers. the teacher hang out and do basically nothing for 8 hrs until it's time to go home. do they get paid you ask, you better believe it. that's a powerful union, god bless america. i laugh but down deep i cry cuz i'm going to have kids someday. i'm lending towards home school.

Had I not been busy with a lot of school-related stuff yesterday, I would've informed all of you that October 11 is National Coming Out Day....surprised Pril and/or Maxler didn't bring this one up!

BTW, tomorrow is Friday the 13th. Sharpen your machetes!

Oooh, It's Friday the 13th..

1) Some studies have shown that while consistently fewer people chose to drive their cars on Friday the 13th, the number of hospital admissions due to vehicular accidents was significantly higher than on "normal" Fridays.

2) The fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskavedekatriaphobia, a specialized form of triskaidekaphobia, a phobia (fear) of the number thirteen.

3) Thirteen was also a sinister number in Norse mythology. Loki, one of the most evil of the Norse gods, went uninvited to a party for 12 at Valhalla, a banquet hall of the gods. As a result, he caused the death of Balder, the god of light, joy, and reconciliation. Loki tricked Balder's blind brother, Hod, into throwing a sprig of mistletoe at Balder's chest. Since mistletoe was the only thing on Earth fatal to Balder, the beloved god fell dead.

4) The 13th day of the month is slightly more likely to be on a Friday (in The Gregorian Calendar) than on any other day of the week.

5) On Friday, October 13, 1307, King Philip IV of France ordered the arrests of Jaques de Molay, Grand Master of the Knights Templars and sixty of his senior knights in Paris. Thousands of others were arrested elsewhere in the country. After employing torture techniques to compel the Templars to "confess" to wrongdoing, most were eventually executed and sympathizers of the Templars condemned Friday the 13th as an evil day.

6) The doomed Apollo 13 space mission brought the unlucky number to the forefront of the media. Apollo 13 was launched at 1313 hours (USA Central Time), from pad 39 (3 X 13) and was aborted on April 13, 1970, two days after launch.
