Do not go to the rainforest cafe on Ohio (or ontario I can't remember). Shed aquarium is the bomb shit -- which is very close to the field museum and all the other crap there on lake shore. House of blues I here is nice. Uno's makes the bomb shit for pizza (the little on near michigan/ontario). I'll see if I can think of other shit later.

The museum of science and idustry is my FAVORITE museum ever. It has so many cool features in it, and I've been to so many others, it does not even compare. Field museum is "nice" but it does not come close to touching science and industry. The shedd aquarium is AMAZING!!!!! I love visiting (yes, I see the irony between my orcaness and loving this place) to see all the different types of animals. Beyond just the animals though, the place itself is really cool. Just make sure you don't stare thru the glass at odd angles. It can give you one whopper of a headache. Field museum is really cool if you like a smaller feel to your exhibits, not that they are small, but they feel smaller. The gem room is my favorite from the whole building, but I suppose that is rather predictable. The new stadium for the Bears is SO COOL if you can go there too... I agree with Kifle about the rain forest cafe too. Ick. Don't bother.

So much worth just LOOKING at in Chicago. Navy pier is neat, they have year round carnivals and rides and food there and its almost always really good eating. Not sure what times they do fireworks anymore, cuz its been to long for me, but you can find out on city cites.

Have fun Maxler, hope that helped narrow down your search.

Unos sells beer and stuff with the pizza.
But go to Dues across the street, thats the real one. Made to order from the crust up... walk in and place you order and it takes 45+ min. You get seated when the pizza is almost done.

Never been to Chicago, but I just called one of the guy's in our Chicago office.

He tells me there is a ton of bars in Wrigleyville or Lincoln Park. But, the bars you are looking for (read Strippers) are on Clark Street and Addison right near Wrigley.

I always get a cab and have the driver take me to "the main bar drag" and find great places nearby.

Navy Pier! And try to stay away from downtown Chicago. The traffic is bullsh!t. You'll feel like you got a haircut cuz they cut you off so much. Driving there is a pretty big nightmare. New Orleans wasn't nearly as bad for me. But in NO, they tailgate like mo-fo's :P

Shedd Aquarium is really amazing... maybe not your kind of place, but you might be surprised.

When I was there, we went to eat at Capone's. Kinda pricey, but decent food, and you can't beat the atmosphere, considering it used to be Al Capone's place by the lake.

If it's still there, the Goose Island Brew Pub has great food and all microbrewed choices on tap, and Sunday afternoons they do a brewery tour, followed by an extensive tasting session. Really extensive if you're lucky enough to get the assistant head brewmaster on his day off. I highly recomment the Hex Nut Brown and either/both of the Imperial Stout and the Oatmeal Stout.

For the short period of time you're sober, the Sears Tower is a heck of a view, with a long but interesting historical leadup before you head to the top.

Be sure to check out some jazz. Andy's is famous for who's been there, and I've head the pizza is the best Chicago pizza of all the jazz bars.

Hope you have a great time, whatever you do. 8)

Cheers.

Weiner Circle

Postby dungap » Thu Jul 20, 2006 8:52 pm

Goto Weiner Circle on N. Clark and W. fullerton. It's a great place to grab an original Chicago Style dog and meet young singles around 2am. Also, that area is the bar district and lots of young singles live there. If you're looking to go clubbing, most of them are Downtown.
