Today in the Monterey Peninsula

Postby Yarash » Sat Apr 21, 2007 5:10 am

I'm sure glad I didn't spend the day sitting around the house. I took my new camera with me this time. I still had to go by myself though :(

That's beautiful! I envy you. I'd love to traipse around area like that. If you're ever in Oklahoma, though, I can take you fishing.

I don't tip cows.

They growl.

Thank you, Pril. I had made a friend and things were great, but last night it got weird and has spiraled out of control now. I'm not really sure what to do, but it will be a challenging situation, for sure.

Here is one from today at one of the Carmel beaches (well, from the rocks at the end of the beach). That's looking out in the direction of Pebble Beach.

Ooooh, that looks nice.

That is salt water/open ocean there, yes?
And is the weather often warm enough to swim there, if so do many people swim/surf/dive in that area?

Thank you, Ambar :) It's an Olympus SP-550UZ. It is the most perfect camera I have ever seen, and if the camera itself wasn't amazing enough, the price is very reasonable. The only thing I might change is having it use secure digital instead of xD, but I'm not going to complain.

Yes, that is the Pacific Ocean. There are often people surfing along the beaches here. I have not seen much swimming, though.

I brought my audio recorder as well. Here is a brief sample of what I heard.

Today I was at the Carmel Beach again, this is facing Point Lobos. I also saw some bush bunnies today.

Now, I didn't have any sort of fancy camera for this one.

This was taken in mid-april when I went out to Texas for vacation to see the folks. They live off the Brazos river in west texas on a little plot of land. It was the day we got a decent little snow storm(for texas). It was taken with a cheap little black and white disposable camera, but it's a picture I really like.

That is wonderful! I so envy anyone who lives where it snows...

Here is a timelapse of a sunset at the Carmel Beach, from two days ago (Friday). And I shared the moment with a special friend :)
