Paladin of Tyr > Terminator ?

Postby Guw » Fri Oct 17, 2003 12:00 am

Listen! And understand! That Paladin of Tyr is out there. It can't be bargained with! It can't be reasoned with! It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead!**

Two dings wrong:
(i) Today, da Paladin of Tyr killed children. I mean it was chasin me but den it chase an' kill a lil level 5 ogre, slaughtered 'im in cold blood. Sometin wrong der.. I tink da Paladin become lawful evil killin da children.

(ii) Guw (with wings) flies VT-south BG ferry-VT-south BG ferry-VT.. in short period of time. Paladin on foot chase him whole way with feet, an' still not run out of puff. Tink da Paladin goin lawful evil cause it musta been sniffin da white powder ta run dat far.

Dats wa Guw tinks.

To a goody religion fanatic, any filth -especially an ogre, deserves to die. Something's definitely silly tho when mobs, which they always do, can chase w/o levitate or fly. Maybe his bard in the group was singin fly :P

I hate the pallies too, and hereby call for vengeance! Our demon minions will slake their thirst in the blood of goodies. Most dragons also belong to us and henceforth will be aggro good! And our manscorpion friends will help as welll! That'll show them. If the goodies want a war, then war they shall have!!!

In all seriousness, it seems a bit strange that powerful aggro evil mobs frequent the roads, and aggro good mobs are virtually nonexistant. What mobs that frequent the roads are aggro good? Anything? Meanwhile, a lot of global load mobs are evil, powerful but just not aggro good.

They used to have those priestesses of Beshaba, but too many people bitched about them, so they changed them so they were no longer aggro good.

Heh heh those priestesses of Beshaba were much worse than the pally groups though. My necro can survive a pally group ambush fairly well, but I got jumped by beshaba once and she (by herself) took off about 600 hps in one round. Thats a bit excessive.

I love those paladins, I hunt them whenever im bored and wanna kill stuff.

A good paladin is a dead paladin.
Best is killin em close to wd so i can drag their bodies in and dump em outside the paladin guild.

Why aren't there more evil aggros on the roads? Who built the roads for the most part? If there were ugly nasties coming out on our roads to eat our children we would rise up in numbers and smite them back to the hells they came from!

Then we would whine and bitch about it until it got changed.

There more evil hometowns then there are good ones (especially when you include "goodie" hometowns with evil leaders and a generally evil populace). Also, most zones are evil. The paladins would quickly get dead, and our evil dragons, anti-paladins, demons, manscorpions, orcs, and other brethen will rule the roads.

It sounds like the problem with the priestess was she was a bit too big, and scared the cowardly goodies. Perhaps if she got nerfed a touch they'd be less afraid.

Dude what game are you playing?

Dunno the roads seem fine. That beshaba group should be put back so goodies don't just close their eyes and blindly walk everywhere. Just mebe make it not load within a x radius of wd, or mh/gn. The world isn't "tame". If you look at the zone's theres usually orc enclaves or just plain evil stuff scattered all about.

Just be happy only one mob will try to smack you down in wd. Poor Yuan, not many grow up to feed me.

Why? The paladins load right next to DK just outside the forest of Mir. Have them load at TP, RC and yes 1w repopping global trackers.

Don't get Guw wrong..

Postby Guw » Fri Oct 17, 2003 5:55 pm

..was alot of fun doing the CR with Paladin and his pukes chasin Guw all over Toril. Reminded me a little of pk, when ya getting chased by a group (without the shakes though - if ya don't know what I mean ya never pk'd :).

Thing I didn't like was that the mob stopped chasin me to kill a newbie.

Paladins thought process must have been somethin like - ahh that Troll.. he's too tough to chase, let's go and kill this newborn baby instead.

If there's aggressive, tracking, never tiring, high level groups of mobs then what about making a level limit on PC's they can kill? For example if they are chasing a level 45 then stumble across a level 5, make them say,

"Let the small cheese go, we have bigger fish to fry".

At the moment there's nothin to stop some evil socialpath leading these aggs onto a group of newbies and doin some effective PK.

Yeap.. Guw's upset he got a newbie killed.

How's this for irony:

On the Shores of Skeldrach Lake
Room size: Very large (L:40 ft W:80 ft H:500 ft)
Exits: -N -S -W
A massive barbarian warrior walks with his friends nearby.
A bard sings of his colleagues' adventures nearby.
A thin gnome stands here, wearing an ornate red and gold robe.
A cleric limps along the path.
A paladin of Torm fingers the hilt of his sword as he walks by.
An orc shaman walks slowly by, concentrating intently, arms outstretched.

Personally, I just would like to see either all aggro evil mobs taken out OR add back in aggro good mobs...make it even. Why should the paladin be Robocop and goodies have little to worry about strolling around?

Warning: As one of the six evil races on Sojourn, ogres are
extremely difficult to play and face many hardships. Their hometown
has been specifically designed to make life hell, and death waits
around every corner. Ogres will most certainly encounter situations
that would be deemed "unfair" to any of the non-evil races. We did
this to create a new challenge for those advanced players who have
"beaten" the challenge of life on the surface world, and are looking
for something more difficult. You should NOT play an ogre unless you
are a *very* advanced player and are used to the Sojourn style of
MUDding, or are willing to face the hardships without complaint, as it
is NOT easy.

I guess that explains why there are agg evil mobs that outnumber da goodie hataz?

I think it is fair to have aggro evil on the surface.

The aggro good are in places like UM2.

Thats how it should be. even if evils dont go into there super often.

Mabye they shouldn't be able to run that far though. I dont think any bard was singing song of travel. I think that is a bug.

aw look, he's all tuckered out from killing evils.

Funny how this menace can be brought low with a single 4th circle spell ;)

Oooo someone noticed my handiwork .... I would kill them off but it seems they just repop and harass someone else.. perhaps someone less prepared.

The poor evil that runs into this one. Tyr and Torm in the same room! Missing Ilmater to make the party complete. :P

Road to Baldur's Gate
This wide dirt road runs in an east to west direction
here, and ends up at the cities southern gates. Many pot
holes and dips line the road, making it a tad bumpy for
wagon and carts, though not so badly as to inhibit travel.
Green grasses cover the land around the city, offering a
clear view of it for as far as the eye can see.

An elven cleric clad in a soft doeskin robe stands here.
A barbarian shaman wearing a coat of wolf fur stands here.
An elven ranger moves quietly along the path.
An elven druid moves along the path with his companions.
A paladin of Tyr walks proudly along the path.
A thin gnome stands here, wearing an ornate red and gold robe.
A massive barbarian warrior walks with his friends nearby.
A bard sings of his colleagues' adventures nearby.
A cleric limps along the path.
A paladin of Torm fingers the hilt of his sword as he walks by.

I thought that althoguh the cold made him shatter, he was able to reform in time, and anly the only that worked was to complete immerse him in molten steel.

Yet again, we'll rely on the Elementalists.
