Y can they cast protection from undead?

"PROTECTION FROM UNDEAD"
Spell.

Area of effect: <victim>
Aggressive: No
Cumulative: No
Duration: Dependent on proficiency of caster
Class/Circle: Necromancer 2nd
Type of spell: Protection

A victim affected by this spell will not be attacked by undead of
lesser level.

Even that puny punk paladin east of WD can cast it.

that's not dual classed. The paladin cited doesn't nuke, he only uses earthquake, vitality, heal, etc. Doesn't use f/cshield either. The adventure north of druid sanc is another mob that pfu's and shouldn't be able to. ALL priest mobs are casting it that I see. This is not a dual class issue. The spell is available to priest mobs and it shouldn't be.

casting mobs have been special since the begining, like shaman mobs that fireshield, major globe and haste, and almost every mob seems to have vampiric touch

Shaman mobs are special, they get mage spells since old school mana would allow shaman to get from both mage and cleric. Mobs are on mana system so I guess I should have specified 'CLERIC' or cleric warrior mobs. These guys have no business having a necromancer only spell.
