Areas Changes

Postby Marthammor » Wed Nov 16, 2005 7:49 pm

I'm not one for news entries, so thought I'd drop a little note here just to let you guys and gals know that a buncha little fixes to areas have gone in with the last reboot and some more with the next reboot/crash. Some of the changes have come from these forums, so do know that we do listen to you guys.
Some of the major changes include the tweaks to magma. Anyone with gear from there should notice the changes made to it. Two aggessive exp zones (one northish and one down south) have gotten a slight boosts due to their aggressive nature. Some mobs in DS have gotten tired of being trampled on and have grown some teeth, so to speak.

As always, we're open to feedback on anything you feel is wrong. You can post here on the bbs or mmail areas in general or mmail any specific member of the areas staff.

Noticed a few of the xp changes already in my wanderings, and must say, they are just right and well worth it! Thanks M!

I'm not sure that making frons war/rog with a piercer was a great idea. They are hard enough with just a weapon, but !bash backstabbers? Seems like a bit much, junk the rogue flag on these guys and its still plenty of an upgrade.

Hoo boy. Ask Kyrh how miffed she was to find out about those fronds.
I hadn't seen her that mad in a long while.
Killed by a double back-stab thru stone, armor, and vit on a level 49 shaman.

Pretty messed up that one of the last places left where someone could actually solo is gone now.

Not that one notch per three ferns was great, but it was at least something.

And I know that will bring a flurry of "Well if you know where to exp" or "Well if you know how to play your character"

Well how about if you had to go away for a couple years and come back to nothing but the hopes of still being able to do the things you used to.. finding out you can do them.. then having it gone less than a week later.

Feh.

The frons load with a low rate, the second fron loads off another low rate so the dual frons should be relativly rare.
I'll drop the thief part of them however so they don't go fleeing out. They are plants after all and can't just pick up roots and move that fast.

For what it's worth, they did not flee once in the testing I did yesterday trying to check loads on the frons. I was figuring the frons were under a maxload kind of concept, but I was wrong. Of note, though, the frons would be better served as a 1h whipping weapon, that way you can leave the rogue flag on the mobs as it is.

Also, THANKS A TON for putting the prots back on the red and white muspel gauntlets!

Edit: Isn't it supposed to be "frond"?
