Hulburg lockpicks

Postby Thrand » Thu Jan 26, 2006 7:51 pm

some mysteriously glowing lockpicks

These lockpicks have a strange glow to them. They are very light, yet
seem incredibly strong.

Are these supposed to be !break?

They break on a successful pick of wd gates.

Thanks for your time and effort.

All lockpicks have a chance to break (except tia picks), just some break very easy and some don't.
Will look into the chance these picks have to break tho, thanks for bringing them up.

HAH!!!

I've snapped Mithrils on WD Gates...

I've snapped Mithrils on the gem encrusted chest...

I've gone through prolly 6 or 7.. all on locks that are pickable.

The things behave like they keep a record of how many times you've used them, then "wear out".

Breaking Lockpicks

Postby Klandal » Thu Jan 26, 2006 10:57 pm

I think there are already a few options for nobreak lockpicks, not including the NEVERbreak lockpick in Tiamat. I don't support even more nobreak options, especially ones where several load per boot like the Hulburg ones.

I'm talking about the ones from EM by the way.....

Oh and Sotana has seen me pop a set on a pickable door in UM2 I think.

I have broke several mithril picks from EM before as well, but only when my lock pick was low and not practiced. After i got it past say 90 i have never broke one since, i think its based more on skill then on the pick.

The hulburg picks are breakable as far as i know even with maxed lockpick they break rather easily.
Dugmaren mutters in a surly voice 'Got any new strategy or going to continue with the "throw bodies at them til they get bored"? '

Dranth group-says 'i started drinkin when i found out galzar would be here'

Nerox says 'careful she goes from 0 to bitch in .00000001 seconds'

In regards to Mithril picks, I have broken more than a few pairs (at least two pairs on pickable locks) and that is with maxxed bard lock pick skill. Then again, bard max for lock picking is 60, which is only above average.

I'll have to agree, this zone is done every boot and those lockpicks
from Hulburg are farmed like they are water. Please let pava
keep his monopoly on the mh !break lockpicks.

At the very least please change the discription of these lockpicks
to 'flimsy crap from easy to do zone'.

ps as you no doubt have gathered by now I am hopelessly sarcastic.

I do thank area's for responding and saying they will look into it.

Thank you very much :)

No you silly octopus-with-an-identity-crisis-thinking-it's-a-rogue, they aren't !break. But they're very close to it and have another attribute which makes them worth using, especially if you aren't level 50.

If they break consistently when picking the WD gates, then those gates must have something special, eh? ;)
