How does a pcorpse leave the room when there are no exits?

Postby Lilithelle » Sat Nov 25, 2006 6:46 am

Your blood freezes as you hear the rattling death cry of Tahla.
Tahla stops following you.
Tahla has left the group.

Ifin winces in pain.

<633h>
Corpse of Tahla slowly sinks downwards.

<633h> sigh
Your lips move, but no sound is heard...

Fog doesn't stop you from seeing exits in a room it just stops you from scanning and seeing out of the room you're currently in.

yep. its just special (and buggy) code, they are underwater (submerged in a river of blood) and there is probably a default line in there for items to sink, which skips over the fact that there is no down exit. oops.

I could be wrong here, but I seem to remember that corpses sink in SG among other places, but in SG all the rooms have exits, and when its checked, the corpse just ends up at your feet unless you are in one of the few up/down tunnels.

I know for certain that portals will 'float upwards' even without an up exit, only to remain in your room. The corpse loss/!exit thing is juts a bug.

My personnal favourite was when my FLOAT weapon floated up, through a locked trapdoor. The underwater code seems to be very challenging to work out, in term of the logic. There seem to be bugs, but that's part of the adventure. ;-)

Cheers.

It is buggy code, but not in the way you think. There is a down exit in that room that something must be triggered to open up. Bug is that things pass through the exit without it first being unblocked. Kinda like the bug that Mertak experienced.
