some items are just too damned heavy

Postby Thilindel » Wed Feb 13, 2008 4:28 am

I guess I could understand why it seems dwarves get class or race specific junk, fair or not. Junk such as the ancient hammer, etc. But there are items that just don't make sense, being that they're too heavy for smaller races.

Given that they're too heavy, ie.

<180h>

rem bec
You stop using an ancient mithril bec de corbin.

<180h>

stora stor bec
You store an ancient mithril bec de corbin in your storage cache.
Autosaving...
att

<180h>

Age: 35 yrs / 16 mths Height: 41 inches Weight: 54 lbs
STR: heroic AGI: perfect DEX: perfect CON: heroic
POW: bad INT: mundane WIS: perfect CHA: mundane
i
Armor Class: -100 (100 to -100) Magic Resistance: 0 percent
Hitroll: 27 Damroll: 27
Alignment: 349 (-1000 to 1000)
Saving Throws: PAR[0] ROD[0] PET[0] BRE[-5] SPE[0]
Wimpy: 10
Load carried: Light

<180h>

You are carrying:
a huge cold-iron hammer of skullsmashing
a cloak of deva's feathers
an ogre shaman's juju bag
a keg of Cedrizarun's Maidenfire Gold '37

<180h>

wie hammer
It is too heavy for you to use.

So, if the point was to make certain items too heavy for tiny races, yet two handed swords, for example can't be dual wielded by something as huge as trolls (possibly), and especially ogres, then where is this logic going to level out?

I think it's a good thing elves can't wield some enourmous demigods specifically stated huge iron hammer. What's kostchtchie's strength? Your argument with regard to ogres, to me sounds like, one thing is broken so let's break another thing aswell. Mind you it's an argument that has seen a lot of things imped over the last few years so cheers for trying! :P

elves can use the hammer, I was talking about the wee little people.

Makes as much sense (the entire randomness of eq requirements and who can use it) as halfling's wearing armor from an ogre they just killed.
