I would suggest that in the next makeover the TorilMUD game engine receives, that the 'formulas' that contain the secrets of how the game works be obscured from the majority of the game's operating code. This would allow more interested parties to actively participate in the development of the mud without becoming party to such information that would allow them to numerically power game the system.
It's not a serious suggestion, as I doubt we're headed into developing a new engine any time soon, but should anyone feel the need to completely rewrite TorilMUD, please keep open development in mind, and segregate secret information from the rest of the system.

Game Engine Changes
Teflor does. Teflor does not.
Re: Game Engine Changes
those codes can be sudoed tho, for example
Human - Average
Ogre - Maximum
Troll - Hard
Barbarian - Pretty Hard
say that's the damage modifier for race table.
Rogue - Maximum
Warrior - Hard
Wizard - Weak
Priest - Average
say that's the class damage modifier table.
Then we could discuss it openly and the implementors could take the comments of player into consideration. The very fact that there is a damage modifer for each one is trivial, pick up a players handbook for x-class or dmg or forgotten realms campaign.
Been thinking about scanning em into pdfs rfol.

As long as we live in this world we are bound to encounter problems. If, at such times, we lose hope and become discouraged, we diminish our ability to face difficulties. If, on the other hand, we remember that it is not just ourselves but everyone who has to undergo suffering, this more realistic perspective will increase our determination and capacity to overcome troubles.
