I guess this should have been posted in the "ideas" forum but I doubt that place sees much light.
I was thinking of a skill for rangers called "aim", which would take longer for them to fire for one round of combat, but with a chance to hit in a vital area, for a chance to do extra damage, to stun, or rarely even to blind.
Just an idea.

With rangers there really isn't much that _can_ be new and original, as it seems we've suggested just about everything. ;)

changes in Ranger Spells
Did not want to start a new thread
I feel that certain classes are much stronger than other classes. I also feel that Rangers could use a couple spells being changed to reflect the class better.
I feel that replacing the spell strength with a dexterity increasing spell would be appropriate. This spell would be self only and increase dexterity up to 50% for a short while. Maybe only for say 3 minutes.
The second spell that should be replaced is dispel Magic. I feel a spell that would act just like a +5 missile with damage and chance to sunder missile shield. The spell would not really be for damage but for the good chance to get rid of the shield.
These two changes alone along with the coming melee changes and changing bash to trip would make Rangers a much stronger and well rounded class.
The justification for these spells is they are much more of a "ranger type" of spells.
Oh well, back to being an illusionist.

Just like Chun-Li!
If they do that, rangers need a female only dress that is only wearable by good aligned female rangers.
cough.

why not just imp bows that proc blind/stun/whatever?
Then you don't have to sacrifice damage (a rangers primary group role second only to luring) in order to do something that pretty much every caster can do as a side thought.
If you wanted to imp a specialized archery command for luring that had a high probability of landing a hit and no probability of hitting an erroneous target, id be for that. Make it ignore shields and stuff for luring too.
Another good idea might be to make archery lure on one shot those 10% damage or delay hunters or whatever that flag is that makes a mob not lure unless you do enough damage to it.
