I was asked to post this here. It was originally in response to a FT post.
It would be much cooler if things like living spiders equipment had a proc that would happen instead of it being !good race. How about?
The living spiders cloak comes alive and envelopes you with a shroud of spiders. Hundreds of spiders bite you. You are poisoned!
You could do this with just about any item flagged !something. It would make the game far more interesting.
1) the !whatever would not show up on identify
2) much more exciting than "You can't use such and such." or "You are zapped blah blah blah."
3)wearing the wrong equipment could legitimitely kill you :D
procs instead of !class/race items

.... lots of things like this already, but at least burn proc is heavily regulated, a proc like you suggest would need to consider the possibility of malicious or accidental pk...

How is this different from giving someone a bag of tridents of the undead or valk swords etc...
