I've been on a few muds that had this. (they've also had guilds w/guild chat too)

Think it would be a great idea to have a friends channel. Especially with all the people on both sides of the race war (forgot this mud was about that huh?) and people changing guilds etc etc. could limit it to 30 like guilds too.

Would work something like this, and the viewable be similar to that of assoc (player list). Everybody's list could be different, and any time you send something out.. all of your friends (that have added you too) would see it. If you both haven't added each other then they wont see it. etc etc

Zoldren > fadd Elet
> You have requested Elet be a friend.
Zoldren > friends
> List of friends you have 1 friend.
> Elet -Online (not added yet)

Elet > Fadd Zoldren
> You have requested Zoldren be a friend.
Elet > friends
> List of friends You have 1 friend.
> Zoldren - Online

Zoldren > friends
> List of friends you have 1 friend.
> Elet - Online

Zoldren > fadd Nymantar
> You have requested Nymantar be a friend.
Nymantar > fadd Zoldren
> You have requested Zoldren be a friend.

Zoldren > fcc sup wankers! ------ <both>> sup pink ho... ----- << only Zoldren would see this as he's only friend

Elet > fdel zoldren
> You have removed Zoldren from your friend list.

tog Fcc
You have turned your friends off - friend channel out!
You have tuned in to see what you friends have to say.

And here I was thinking all you really needed was the tell command; after all I think its better to be a little more personal when you're only gonna talk to 1 maybe 2 people tops.

I like the idea. I use this all the time on battle.net

the find command works pretty well. If that person created a new alt and didn't report it, maybe he/she DOESN'T want you to find them!

so ya.. kegor is not built in.. anyway..

its a good idea. multiple other places use it with great success... staff thoughts?

I'm not sure how this would work? I like Dartan but I hate anyone else that likes him just on the principle of the thing!

It's basically the same thing as Battle.net's chat system.

fwho displays the who list of people who you are friends with.

Every time a friend logs in, you get a notification saying he/she has logged in.

I wanna see an enemies channel, where you just berate your foes constantly.

I think thats called GCC
