Melee is being experimented on anyways, so.....

With the downgrades to hit/dam/saves and ac for melee and their competing even less with mages who only lost hitpoints......

Could we try adjusting the "knobs"....

1) So that 20-25+ hitroll hits all mobs for melee classes with 75+ offensive skills? (this is about level 41+...the same level mages can really start zoning more or less)

2) So that -100+ ac, along with 75+ in defensive skills for parry, dodge, shieldblock, defense, and riposte means 3/4 the damage versus mobs taken?
(level 41+ as well mostly and when most hitters should've started learning how to lessen how they get hit to an extent...roll with the punches)

3) So that a current damage roll of 50 is adjusted to what damage rolls of 75-90 pre changes were? (given the lowering of the stats, less in hit/dam would still hit as well as before, but the work in getting elite eq would be rewarded in the high end game with tons more melee power)

4) So that lowering the current melee/race levels for saves for half damage also tied into defense of 75+? (So a level 41+ warrior could save on an area spell at -10 svspell almost all the time versus -20 given his higher defensive skill and supposed experience in battling casters)

Changes are being worked on for a month anyways, these might make the harder to get ac/hit/dam for melee actually mean more, have melee live longer, and be able to do more without full spellups. This along with further tweaks to lower area spell damage and defensive spell caps.....might balance things without totally scrapping the new eq stats or having everyone throw a fit since they suck compared to a naked WD dockie?

Given the huge changes which occurred this week, it can't hurt to try it, can it?
