Ummm... he's a big buffalo. He hits like a house falling on you. Given a stone statue in your shape, he could probably shatter it into dust, given half a chance. I'm surprised it took that many hits to do you in.

Hmm... I wonder... I wonder if you would have been able to flee if you didn't have had that gsay spellout message for a spell you cast yourself and when not grouped...

Anyway... Seems to me your stoneskin is able to prevent close to 900hp damage, given that the damage isn't too great and just goes right through it. That doesn't seem to be that bad, or I'm guessing you perhaps wanted the stoneskin to be able to stop more than the approximately 120 hp each hit did on you...?

traditionally stoneskin ABSORBS part of the damage, it was never meant to block anything.

I believe the orginal d&d formula was it absorbed 10hp per sound and had 10hp per level of caster so i donno what yer complaining about Stone here does a ton more. ;)

Type of spell: Enchantment

This spell changes the skin of the victim to a stone-like consistency
and negates almost all damage from all forms of physical attack. It
last until duration expires or a variable number of attacks (of any type,
whether they hit or do damage) are made against the victim. The number
of attacks it protects against varies with level and proficiency of caster.
If a particularly damaging attack is made, it will provide no protection
at all. It does not block ANY damage from magic spells (though these
attacks WILL 'chip away' at the protection).

Answer? Crits suck, Ac might have helped.

Yeah, I know he hits like a ton of bricks, and frankly that's fine. I'm not bemoaning the death really, I should have moved further away or not gone in for the third time on one mental, so it was my fault. I adjusted tactics after that and was able to win. It just seemed sort of remarkable that of 7 hits, 7 went through the stoneskin.

As far as needing more ac........ anyone got bracers of defense? Or uh *cough* blessed scorx ring? ;+)

Each hit by the buffalo does more than 100 hp worth of damage. That's gonna go through stone like it wasn't even there. Svpet is gonna do squat in this situation.
