The Trade Way
Shallow ditches line a slightly sloped road made of cobbled stones and
hard-packed earth. The road is generally in good repair, but there are
potholes here and there, some with standing water and others without. A stone
is missing here and there, having been replaced by crushed rock. The land
bordering the outside of the shallow ditches is mostly open prairie here, with
scattered trees and brush wherever the wind or birds have carried their seed.
In some places the ditches have rubbish that has been dumped in them, which
doesn't apppear to get cleaned up terribly often. The road itself shows heavy
traffic in both directions. This portion of the road south of the Zundbridge
is not often patrolled by guards from Waterdeep, and as such is not nearly as
safe to travel as the parts closer to the City of Splendors. To the east the
Ardeep Forest shows on the horizon line.
