What people don't seem to remember or understand is that flee is based on an attribute you don't see on att, LUCK. The more maxed out your 8 visible stats are, the less points you have available for the other 2 hidden stats (LUCK and KARMA). So when you say damn, I have to be very unlucky to fail those many flees, guess what, you probably are. Stop trying to get a perfect char roll, and be happy in knowing that you probably wont fail flee as much.

EDIT: or is that another codebase that relies on Luck and Karma?

If this is true, it's got to be the dumbest code ever. Luck shouldn't be a stat, it should merely be determined by the roll of the dice. As for being able to flee being tied to an attribute- it should be tied to agility, if anything.

*pout* I had the smiley! I thought it was funny when I posted it. Wasn't meant to be an attack =D

@Verarb

Room had 2 exits. They just dodged me more than Clinton under investigation I guess!

@Vikaz

There's something wrong with the game if a char can be so 'lucky' as to get nice, if not great stats yet be unlucky or bad kharma. It's oxymoronic actually. Someone gets perfect health, yet is very unlucky. Someone is almighty strong or has the best agility or dexterity of anybody in his/her race, yet can't escape or flee out of a situation? Weird!

There is a carryover Luck stat from the base code, but it is not implemented and does nothing.

So is there any particular reason why there is at least one item, if not more with massive + luck as it's main stat?

Homelands code made use of both the luck and karma stats, and I believe some of their equipment carried over with gear that boosted those stats.

Might sound weird, but did you spam flee? I've never had a problem with fleeing in any room and I always made sure I hit flee at most every second.
It will be fixed in Toril 2.0.

It's the infamous 'PANIC' trigger :P I hate flee. specially in rooms where there's four or more exits and it repeatedly fails for grey elves and other zippy races.
