2.0 Scribe suggestion

Have it like quest, give master book, quill, then ask him which spell, so it's automatically put in your book. This way, he'll return the book, and quill. Money is put to use. To make copies, have scribes/guys who sell the identify scrolls sell spell component needed to 'duplify' Or at least make all mages get 'duplicate' spell which takes x amount to buy at shops.

Poor guildie just spent most literally all day scribing after liching. Just timesinks like this make you scream in frustration.

Very good idea. This system would also help teach newer players the proper way to interact with quest mobs also.

Actually.. you don't HAVE to pay for spells. :-)

Borrow someone else's books to copy over, or if another race, ask someone to teach.

1) Scribing spells is much, much faster in 2.0

2) Keeping a backup is much more important - you don't want to lose all those rare spells you collected. Fortunately, there are some new options for having a book copied for you - for a price.

Oh Shev.. here's a question...

If someone finds and scribes a rare spell, will they be able to teach it? Will we be able to borrow spellbooks in one of those "Oh crap" moments?

Nope. Spell books can only be read and scribed to by their owner. Teaching is not a function either - you can only learn a spell from a scroll or your guild master. And scrolls are of course always one-time use items.

Awesome. That's a huge balance problem in tabletop - having two wizards in the same party means that each wizard gets twice as many spells at no real cost. I'm glad to see that Shev is addressing this.
