Vote for Toril!

Postby Valendhal » Thu Nov 06, 2008 7:58 pm

Been voting every day for a few wks. The rating really dropped down quite abit! Was 55 now its 45. I have to believe that we could bring this down into the 20's again.

Would also be nice to keep a steady dialog going on these boards to keep Toril "visible". I have been posting some messages / updates here and there as Mugo. Feel free to reply w a testimonial! It only takes a min or two!

While I agree it'd be great to vote, it's disheartening to find that in the last two days, I've seen zero gods on..pbase of less than 15 ppl at keys. No forgers - ever. If they're not done with Toril, they sure act it (by inaction that's visible)

2 days in a row, I've petitioned 'Eilistraee on?' and get 0 replies.

When I type who, and only see players, holy shit that looks bad.

I vote at both of these weblinks most days:

http://www.topmudsites.com/vote-shev.html

http://www.mudconnect.com/cgi-bin/vote_ ... ner's+Home

But with the pbase the way it is, it's pretty difficult to move TorilMUD up those lists.
Oh well.

What are a few things you think would help to improve Toril? What about attracting new players? What do you think would have to take place to make you feel enthralled with the current "toril scene"?

Having said all that, the situation has been handled, so this thread is pretty much at an end. -Kossuth

Note - that 2nd link, the muddconnect site now requires users to login before they can vote, so everyone register there and let's hit the voting hard for a while - perhaps we can attract more than a few new players for the upcoming USA summer season!

Why on earth would I vote for a MUD that can't even manage to fix its forums for six fucking weeks?

Umm, to perhaps help towards some growth of a game that many continue to play & love, that you once played & loved, and that you are still associated with, and that will take you all of 2 mins the 1st time, and then 15 seconds each time thereafter?

Right, because the forums have anything to do with the MUD these days.

Thanks to those voting - every little bit helps! :)

It has a LOT more to do with the MUD than you think apparently. It reflects on the attitude and dedication of the owners towards the game.

Considering the forums is where people started this whole voting thing in the first place...

Hey, fair enough. In this case it didn't have much to do with my dedication and time, but I guess I've earned the rep. I hope you enjoy being able to use the forums again in any case.

Hey Shev, any news on the server/hosting or whatnot? The current setup has crappy lag semi-often.

Thanks.

Still working on it. All the feedback I've gotten has said that the current setup is playable except for some occassional latency - if that's changed please let me know.

It's laggy at times Shev, and it's been crashing a little too often.

Also, something seems to be fubar'd with Izans. It keeps crashing whenever it's done.
