This is a very shallow well. You won't see anything at all like what happened with the BP blowout. That being said, it lends support to the Administration's call for a deep water drilling moratorium until safety standards can be reviewed.

Government corruption can't be an excuse for more government.

The timing of all this is remarkable. The timing of several events under Obama are remarkable imo.
Healthcare bill dies, next thing you know its been breathed new life by Wellpoint raising rates 39%.
Clean energy bill on the ropes, an oil rig blows up... ban gets thrown out, another oil rig blows up.
I'm generally not a conspiracy theorist... but Obama has remarkable timing. When was the last time an oil rig blew up?

When's the last time a socialistic administration needed to pull the wool over the eyes of the masses?

Well if there is a conspiracy, I guarantee all the major parties are likely to be participating. Let's not forget that Bush was close and personal friends with Bin Laden's family..

I didn't know Michael Moore played Toril. :)

I forgot this one
WASHINGTON—The Securities and Exchange Commission's internal watchdog said the timing of a fraud lawsuit against Goldman Sachs Group Inc. filed by the SEC was "suspicious," suggesting agency officials tried to distract attention from a report criticizing the SEC for failing to detect an alleged Ponzi scheme.
...
At a Senate Banking Committee hearing Wednesday, Mr. Kotz was questioned about the timing of the Goldman suit. He responded: "It would strain credulity to think it was coincidental." He added: "I can't give you a conclusion right now, but it was suspicious."
...
At the time of the Goldman case, the SEC denied any political connection and said the timing wasn't swayed by factors unrelated to the case.
The ponzi report that cast the SEC very unfavorably was released the same day. Also, if i recall correctly, this came during the final weeks before the financial overhaul vote. I remember thinking that it was being used to manipulate public opinion and present lawmakers with the choice to vote for regulation or vote to let the Goldmans of the world continue to be evil.
