Why are Christians always so eager to burn books?

Postby Sarvis » Thu Sep 09, 2010 6:12 pm

Some guy wants to burn the Koran as a protest.
Missionaries will burn any artifacts/writings of a tribe as they convert them to Christianity.
Hitler, of course... not to Godwin the thread already but he was raised Christian
Christians in the early 2000's burning Harry Potter books
Even modern churches in America plan annual book burnings!

So, what is it about books that you guys hate?

I heard the guy say that he didn't know Jesus, but he thought that even Jesus wanted to burn books at times. And that pretty well summed it up for me.

The man is crazy.

The problem isn't so much burning books. If people want to be wackjobs then so be it. The problem is more that anyone else gives a fuck about it.

I agree with what Corth and Diso said in the other thread... why this crap gets air time on national / international news / stage is retarded.

Its ridiculous that the president, the state department, the general running a war and well everyone else including me have now commented on this subject.

But in general... why do you like burning books? I don't even care about the media attention. Christians have been burning books since before the media even existed!

The question is why?

No, not Christians. Mall religions. Calling those people Christians is like calling Obama a Christian; or a Muslim. It's like asking: "Why do Liberals let people kill babies?"
