So Long, and Thanks for all the Fish

Yeah yeah, again. I'm kinda tired of Kiryan's crap, and Teffie's BS.

And really, really don't need to see a picture of shit while I'm eating lunch. Thanks for your oh so relevant content.

So bitch about us all you guys want. The reality is that NO ONE has posted anything in this forum in a long time. You can blame Kiryan for his political threads, but the reality is before those there was nothing for a week or two at a time.

Then your major contribution is a picture of shit.

So yeah. Fuck off. We're not the problem, and I look forward to checking back in a month or two and finding the same 20 threads at the top of the page because Kiryan's crap was moved to the political discussion forum and no one posted anything else here. The rousing first thing new players will see when they check the forum is a picture of crap. Nice.

Again you miss the point. We HAVE been. People just don't like our contributions, and bitch without providing any of their own. Even you have been keeping the forum active.

Which part of my crap contributed most to your leaving. My refusal to change my viewpoint to match yours? or the constant onslaught of criticism that I directed at Obama and liberals? Just couldn't handle anyone challenging your version of the truth anymore?

The dog poop was disgusting, but that was just Jake's way of expressing his speech. Is it any worse than you using the word crap? why?

Diso, in America, most of these political threads would not be safe for work. I barely dare to talk about the economy at work because it sod ependent on political positions. True soemone has to sit down and read vs walk by and see a steaming pile of crap, but ... really was that any stronger than some of the text content of these forums? Would you read a cyber sex log at work?

I really do think it's better that the crap pictures got removed, but that may be because I wouldn't do stuff like that anyway.

Still, I didn't request any moderative actions.

Let's just assume it's the moment that you stopped trying to have a political discussion and started trying to shovel as much shit onto the forum as you possibly could. I think we both know that you basically linked six articles a day that you barely read, followed by two or three lines of completely fabricated criticism for things which aren't actually happening in reality. You've just been trolling for a couple months now, and nobody is under any illusions that it's anything but that. Trolling you back was kinda fun now and then, but it's time for me to hang it up. Sarvis really likes to argue though, and no matter what he says here, he will continue to engage you into infinity. I'm glad there's a forum for it now.

So much mock outrage on the forums lately. I am appalled that my trolling was discontinued! I am saddened that someone chose to post an inappropriate picture! I fear for the safety of my children because what my opinions are deemed unsafe speech by the cruel taskmasters at my job!

If I'm a troll so be it. I find it entertaining to post the ridiculous and hipocrisy laden positions liberals take. I hope it causes some people to think about their positions when faced with the hipocrisy.

I read every article I post and point out only what I think is interesting / hipocritical.

Mock outrage... no I'm quite serious. I really do think Obama is about once removed from Hugo Chavez. I really do think he is race baiting and too much of an academic. I'm so serious, that I'm working on gaining a seat on the school board and this is just the beginning. I'm tired of you liberals and I'm not going to fight with one arm tied behind my back or just scream at the wind.

As long as it's not yourself, right?

I read every article I post and point out only what I think is interesting / hipocritical.

Whether you read it or not isn't at all the point. Ever hear of quality over quantity? Instead of any kind of well reasoned argument or thought, all you do is post articles with some random "gotcha" interpretation that's frequently so far out in left field it's pointless to even engage.

Actually that's part of it too. Between work and the girlfriend, I'm too busy to bother with this crap anymore... and it's less interesting than just about anything else I could be doing. Except when I'm stuck on a bug at work or something, but I've still got Fark.com where at least the Republicans make cogent arguments.

No you don't. You find it entertaining to skim an article and then blow it out to cartoonish proportions because you like to make up things about "liberals" so you can get angry about them. I've enjoyed discussing things with you at times in the past when you've chosen to act reasonably and with forethought. If you ever want to get back to that, I'll hop into the trollbait forum for a while. Really though, you post too much and think too little. You post for reaction, not for discussion. That's fine if you want to yell back and forth with Sarvis about doomsday, fascism, and socialism, but I much prefer talking to Corth, from whom I learn something now and then.

By the way... and this isn't a flame. The word is spelled hypocritical. Also, hypocrisy. My Grammar Hammer is a little rusty, but I'm not afraid to heft it once again.

Mock outrage... no I'm quite serious. I really do think Obama is about once removed from Hugo Chavez. I really do think he is race baiting and too much of an academic.

Ok, that's an unfortunate perception, for a lot of reasons that maybe you can list out over in the other forum.

If you're bored at work, you don't have enough to do or enough friends at work to talk to.

When I"m bored at work I:
1. Get off my butt and walk to get blood in my legs.
2. Do more work.
3. Talk to someone
4. Get a drink.

I like discussing politics, because occasionally I learn something or change my opinion on something. Page after page of hyperbole and complaint is fun to troll now and then, but by and large it's a waste of time and I tend to skip most of it. Often, I'll check into a thread to see if it's a discussion or a rant... if it's a discussion I'll participate, if it's a rant I'll either skip it or post a short troll response.

Now that the forum has been purged, I'm going to skip the trolling completely and only bother to participate in threads that are worth the time.

For the most part, no I won't. The criminal behavior thread is interesting, and contains no trolling. The rest, I skimmed and skipped.

Can you even link the last time you posted something that wasn't trolling?

My guilty troll goto is "My neighbor died last night after he OD'd on pot. why don't they warn you how dangerous that stuff is?:("

Yeah some guy the other night was spamming "I just wanted to put an end to the rumor. I'm a doctor, and I can certify that pot leads to cancer in 100% of test cases. I will link you the study."

He got OVER 9000 responses.

Plan B is to run for office through a proxy, my wife or my eldest son. I've already got the campaign slogan for my wife and a clear path all the way to state legislature if I have to resort to that.

Enjoy ;)

can't disclose the slogan, it'll make it too easy for my detractors to find me!

Plan C is to develop a medical powerhouse in the state using my children and wife as slave labor and then pull a Senator Byrd. ex recruiter for the KKK who got eulogized by Bill Clinton. Didn't you know, Byrd had to do some things he wasn't proud of to get elected for you!

You think I'm joking, I'm really not.

so your solution was a draconian complete over reaction with basically no advance warning because you didn't like it. We had to move to another forum because you decided it was time for a change. no you handled that terribly and there has been no forthcoming apology for your over-reaction even if the politics forum was necessary to further the goals of the adminsitration.

It's a draconian over reaction and terribly handled to put a few day time out on a forum that's degenerated into pointless name calling and slander hey? And then splitting the forums after getting repeated requests to do so... I'll feel bad in a minute here. Don't hold your breath for an apology.

By kicking the primary users out of the general discussion thread, you denounced what they were using it for.

To make matters worse, you named the new forum something ridiculous and noted that it was for flaming and trolling. It wasn't very classy.

No matter what you think of it, or the necessity of it, it was pretty offensive to quite a few of us.

Sure, this BBS is just your playground and we're just guests, but if the goal is to make people feel welcome, it's not happening with actions like these. Moderative actions can be done with more respect (even if it's unearned) for the users, even when you dislike what they are doing.

But then again, fuck them anyway.
