Two churches across the street from each other

Having said all that, the situation has been handled, so this thread is pretty much at an end. -Kossuth

That is awesome. However the Presbyeterians are right, dogs don't go to heaven. I'm pretty sure the Catholics weren't serious...

I especially enjoyed this part.

Catholic: "Catholic dogs go to heaven, Presbyeterian dogs can talk to their minister"

Presbyeterian: "Converting to Catholicism does not magically grant your dog a soul"

Catholic: "Free dog souls with conversion"

lol ragorn, how the hell did you know about that.

I was reading a book over the weekend trying to influence the reader to adopt vegetarianism and it said one thing that I thought was interesting. Apparently there is a school of thought that believes the original hebrew in genesis uses the exact same word for "bringing to life" man and then 12 verses later animals. Then with creative punctuation you get God giving man dominion over the animals, and the plants to eat instead of dominion over the animals and plants to eat. They had some interesting bible verses and exegesis to back up their position, but the rest of their evidence was beyond flimsy as was their shifting standard... verses to support eating animals were badly translated or flat out lies incorporated by the men who wrote the bible, the verses supporting not eating animals were either out of context or implied rather than stated. They even went so far as to suggest that the Jesus who 'appeared' to the disciples after the crucifixation was not actually jesus (apparently there is no scripture suggesting jesus ever ate animal flesh except once after the ressurection where he ate some fish to prove he was alive)...

The book came pretty close to saying animals have souls. At a minimum we're not treating animals like God intended us too. I was unpersuaded although a couple points are worthy of remembering... and I am considering moving to a less meat based diet since there is really no good reason to eat meat other than it tastes really good.

LOL! Hi there Ragster! How's the world of gaming? Have you tracked down any foofies with your mad ranger skillz? I hear foofs are rare these days and should be handled with care!

It's been awhile since I've visited the forums. I hope everyone is doing great. :)

Well, after a long dry spell, I believe I've finally wrangled one. They're fickle creatures, prone to pop in unannounced with no warning :)

Still on WoW, though only occasionally. Mostly playing League of Legends these days.
