Bug Report

Postby Elscint » Wed Apr 11, 2001 12:40 am

I was just trying to raise some funds in the fine city of Waterdeep and somehow even though I was invisible a farmer noticed me attempting to 'borrow' a few coins from a noble and reported me to the RDF. Please tell me this is a bug, I do not understand how a low level mob like a farmer is going to have detect invisible and notice me stealing, I'm assuming that right now the state of being invisible is being ignored by the justice code.

The noble, on the other hand, can see invis and sent a tell to the farmer to report you, since you get charged with falsely reporting a crime if you try it yourself! Image

Some parts of the justice code needs tweaking. Had a silimar experience just like this one and it just doesn't make sense.

I was wondering what was happening when I saw:

An RDF elite guard drags someone in from the nroth.

An RDF elite guard drags someone south.

From the farmer's perspective.

A noble begins casting a spell.

A noble completes his spell.
Your eyes begin to tingle.

Elscint sneaks in from the south.

Elscint tries to steal something from a noble!

say I just say a crime and I should report it!

Yayaril,

While I can appreciate your perspective, we do know that mobs do not work together in the fashion that you've proposed. And though I'm not certain I have to assume that a farmer by trade is not able to cast detect invis. Perhaps the noble sees invisible perhaps he doesn't he wasn't the one who reported the crime. I'm not complaining about the code itself nor am I looking to have it taken out or anything crazy. I'm just trying to point out a very small bug that perhaps was overlooked. Does the code check for states granted by spells such as invisible when checking to see if a mobile is able to see and report a crime?
