You shouldn't gain prestige unless you are max 10 levels higher than your victim. If you are lvl 50 and the guy you killed is lvl 20, too bad. Takes no skill, so you should get no prestige. And the other guy shouldn't lose it.
A lvl 20 killing a lvl 50 should get prestige. When someone dies to someone else, the code should check if (killer level) -(killed level) <= 10, only then should there be prestige gain/loss.

prestige
Prestige is for arena kills.
You gain 1 when you kill someone and you loose 1 when you get killed by someone.
Personally I think presteige should be reworked on a scale like alignment and should work like exp. Everytime you do something detremental to your openent you will earn a little bit of presteige. Everytime someone damages you or casts a negative spell against you, you will lose a little bit of presteige. The person in the group who gets the kill will get a little bit of bonus presteige. Level and everything else will factor into presteige but casting outside of combat will not earn anything.

Prestige is gained and lost in the arena, but it is also gained by leveling, and as far as I know will also be gained from doing trade. I believe that prestige will be used like money when it comes to personal estates, and other things that they are planning. You trade in some of your prestige points, and can gain a room on your house, etc. Now I may be wrong, but this is what I understand it to be from various conversations I have had with people.

Many things can affect prestige.
Right now, most of you have 100 * (level) you are, and
10* (charisma)
Prestige dosent do anything much right now, but its to govern how large of a castle you can have, how good the guards are, how intense raids are, and such things like that. Also prestige determines a slightly higher importance (not all importance) in determining quest targets and such (i think).
