And the sack goes poof.

Postby Golm » Thu Aug 09, 2001 1:19 pm

So me and Sylvist were trying to solo the dragon. he breathed acid, no biggie, one of the ruby rings went poof. BUT, apparently, so did the SACK that the ring was in. even tho it NEVER showed it.

If that sack had the NOBURN flag, I'd petition and ask a god about it. A news item said they fixed the NOBURN flag so the item isn't supposed to get poofed.

Interestingly enough, NOBURN with acid breath did not appear to be broken, so I didn't change it. Therefore, I'm not sure that what you think happened actually happened. Our logs would show the story though. Just ask someone to check them the next time you're on.

Hmm.. just realized something.. that ring was -inside- your sack. If the sack is noburn, shouldn't it also protect the items?

Or even if it isn't, shouldn't the container protect whats inside it? Dunno how this particular code works, so I'm just guessing/giving opinions Image

So can anyone clear this up?

Is there any sure way to make sure you don't lose your bag to a dragon breath (any breath can poof a bag?)

A protection spell (like prot from fire, or acid, or cold, etc) will garuntee that your bag doesn't poof?

A NOBURN flag on a bag will only prevent poofing for certain breaths, or none at all?

I'm really confused on this subject!

1) NOBURN is fixed. See the news.
2) Silken sack is not NOBURN.
3) In Golm's case, the sack was destroyed 10 minutes before the ring. He must have missed it in spam.
4) Having protections up while fighting a dragon is generally a good idea.
