whut was wrong with the name Oxon? i think its bs he was forced to change it, the guy level to like 35(i think thats about his size) and is forced to change his name, now all those people who knew him wont, talk about a set back, build a rep as a good shaman and boom
i wont mention the names as ive nothing against them but i can think of two right of hand that not only very closely resemble english words, but one could easily be seen a drug reference and the other sexual.
and oxon is no good? why, ox on? bah! thats just stupid, i thought it was a great name

yeah am im mad i dont have a troll named fuz no more, it doesnt matter he sent me a tell and told me his name was changed, my point is oxon was a great name for an ogre and i protest his name was not cool when there are others that are almost blatantly so uncool by the rules. let oxon be oxon.

Yes, I think if it got caught in, say, the 1-10 range it should be changed... changing name of a 35 seems kind of... painful.
Maybe admins could have a place to announce such changes?
For example, if I got my name changed, I wouldn't know where to start for telling people who I now was, since a lot of people I knew from before don't have the same names now, and I generally wait for them to contact me (haven't learned most new names yet, sorry

Disagree. Though making some spelling errors in "beer" will make it sound "bread", that doesnt necessarily mean that from now, bread must be treated like alcoholic beverage. Name Oxon sounds quite different from "ozone" and "oxen", by my humble opinion. And it isnt a matter of voting on rules, which ARE right. It is a matter if those rules were enforced correctly in THIS particular matter. I think they werent, and it isnt my ONLY my own humble opinion.
An Admin has nothing to go on but his or her own personal perception of the name in question.
If the player who as asked to change his name is deeply unhappy about it, the proper course of action would be for him to speak to a Senior Administrator about the problem.
Third parties posting on this board about it doesn't help the situation at all, though your concern for your friend is admirable.
