Rot timers on corpses

Rot timers on corpses

I rolled a n00b over 2 weeks ago and got killed several times at the mosquitoes by lake skeldrach.

I travel by there almost every day, and until yesterday, I noticed my corpse was still there. I understand that corpses that haven't been "tampered" with have a 2 day rot timer or something.

It seems like the rot timer then gets reset after a crash/reboot or something. Is this normal? The corpse rotted yesterday. I checked it out after about 56 hours of uptime.

Just interesting that it didn't rot for over 2 weeks, and then rotted once the mud was up for more than 2 days.

Maybe it's a feature. If I die somewhere horrible and can't CR, I might be able to come back in 2 weeks, as long as the mud hasn't been up longer than 2 days.

yeah, rot timer resets after a crash/boot.
It would be a massive pain in the ass if it didn't, since we'd have to continuosly be casting preserve on everything.

Don't count on it much longer though. I belive we will be seeing ALOT more 50-70 hour boots in the coming weeks.
