Is there a reason Elementalists have an extra con notch?

Postby Malacar » Fri Jun 28, 2002 7:22 pm

All other mages (I think) are pretty standard... Howcome elementalists have an extra notch over them? They are far from the weakest of mage classes...

Err... They do? Hrm. With 100 duergar con, I've been getting 5 hps per level. The occasional 6 or 7, but usually 5.

Maybe someone forgot to tell the duergar.

Gnome elementalist gets a con notch over gnome invoker I do believe...

Course I been smoking a lot of crack lately, so I fully expect to be corrected here.

No worries. I rarely ever know what I'm talking about. I just pretend to. That's dangerous.

Invokers and Enchanters are different from the other mage classes, yes. Has always been that way.

Yes, yes I am. Image

I think with all the changes to the various mage classes that these extra hps should probably be looked at... But that's comin from a wuss. Image

i agree with malacar.

That extra con notch sounds a bit ridiculous especially on elementalists.

Actually there does seem to be. I have roughly 257 hps naked at 47, been getting 4 hps per lvl with 100 con since lvl 25. Before I got aged I had around 245ish hps.

It is not a con notch. There is a point at which an elementalist will receive an extra hit point for reaching that amount of con that an invoker/enchanter won't.

They just get fewere hit points, has nothing at all to do with constitution.

So it's not con..

The fact remains they get 50more hps at level 50 than inv/ench...

So do necros, shamans, illusionists.... your point being?

Playing invoker/echanter for the power the posses will make ya lose a little bit of hps..

Actually.. Nevermind. I posted this thread because I was a little annoyed at the inequalities of the class(enchanter, which i judge to be the most annoying and misrepresented class on the mud.. I watch non-enchanters tout how pwerful the class is, and that we enchanters should just shut up because we are so powerful. I'd love a couple of those that do this to play an enchanter, without being powerleveled, up to 50th level...Then do 20-30 zones, minimum. The annoyance factor alone evens it out.). But not every class needs to be equal. Penis envy got the better of me.

Offtopic: I'd like grey elves to be looked at, at some point, though.

I'm not posting this to be inflammatory, but I wrote this paragraph to you almost verbatim about 2 years ago about Rangers.

Same story for every class. They're a lot different to play than people perceive them to be.

Curious how you wrote to me 2 years ago, when the first time I used this bbs was a year ago... And the last time I played a ranger was over 4 years ago... Image

Ok, let's split the difference. It was about a year and a half ago. Image

Close nuff. But I don't see a ragorn response there!

Actually, I was just ribbing Ragorn. Image He and I made up, so we're not mean to one another anymore.

He and I (later in the thread)had a point that all classes are different.

The first time I posted "all you ranger bashers should try playing one" was about FOUR years ago on The Turning Point Image

So my particular iteration aimed at you was a little off in the time scale, oh well Image
