Glahir was feebed and rayed, so I went back down to summon him out of beholders. I summoned him, and hit "up". While I was still in summon lag, two beholders dimmed in and extracted fourfold Vengeance(TM).
Should dim lag be so much shorter than summon lag? Clearly the beholders recovered MUCH faster than my character did.

I'm sure mob duration is based at least on level, probably other things, just like player lag.
I haven't actually played in a long time, but i remember evading aggro wizzies when they'd dim, you'd have plenty of time to just walk to the next room for them to dim again, while you waited for your group to come help. *shrug* I'm probably not an authority on the subject anymore though
