Web of Deceit - Tel'arato Dagor

Postby Kercil » Sun Nov 13, 2005 9:10 pm

A talk of peace it was meant to be,
But soon the elf was forced to flee.
Gruumsh, the truce he did betray,
For Corellon he wished to slay.

Across the moors they fought their duel,
No magic was the only rule.
But evils curse Corellon was under,
And soon the orc his blade did sunder.

As moonlight settled across the land,
Sehanine did strike with sword in hand.
To save her lord the sword she mended,
Corellon now armed the battle he ended.

To Arvandor Corellon made his way,
But evil would strike again this day.
Close to home the Beastlord struck,
And was defeated with a bit of luck.

Araushnee's blood nearly boiled,
Sehanine, her plans had spoiled.
This lust for power Sehanine found tragic,
But soon she was bound in webs of magic.

To Vhaeraun her son Araushnee did task,
Hide the moongoddess their treachery they'd mask.
Now the seeds of evil she would sow,
And watch her list of allies grow.

In Arvandor celebration had begun,
For two victories Corellon had won.
Against an orc, against a man,
It was all part of Araushnee's plan.

And to her daughter Araushnee did turn,
Suggest her fathers' thanks she'd earn.
Find the sword sheath he had lost,
Hidden Araushnee would keep the cost.

Eilistraee did search the moor,
The missing sheath she would procure.
Then back to Arvandor she would race,
To see the smile upon her fathers face.

Back to Arvandor Eilistraee flew,
But a sense of darkness within her grew.
An army of evil marched with haste,
The elves of Arvandor they'd lay to waste.

To slay with her bow was her first desire,
But warning the others she knew to be wiser.
Elf, centaur, treant and sprite,
All gathered together preparing to fight.

For almost a day the battle was fought,
And still Araushnee had not gotten what she had sought.
An ogre loomed before Corellon weapon in hand,
Araushnee wishing a deathblow he'd land.

Her father in danger an arrow she sped,
Slowing the ogre, arrow deep in his head.
Eilistraee set to fire another shaft at her mark,
Her jaw dropped in horror as the arrow did arc.

The arrow held true intent on its course,
All elves knew Eilistraee as it's only source.
The shaft it pierced Corellon right through his mail,
Aerdrie blasted Eilistraee with torrents of hail.

Araushnee rushed to Corellon a vial in hand,
Soon she would be ruler of this elven land.
Before she could give him this magical 'cure',
There came a bright radiance silver and pure.

Out of this moonlight Sehanine soon did stride,
Seeing her free Araushnee's eyes then went wide.
She called Araushnee a traitor and the elves all gave pause,
They called for a council following the elven laws.

With Corellon now injured no council could be called,
But soon the elves stood mouth agape looking on enthralled.
Aerdrie, Hanali and Sehanine did shimmer and slowly began to merge,
In their place Angharradh now stood this evil she would purge.

Corellon she healed at once now equal to his might,
At Araushnee he drew his blade, this would be his fight.
He called her traitor and cursed her name and began to weave the Art,
Her once perfect form began to twist and match the blackness in her heart.

Half elf, half spider she struck at him with all her pent-up rage,
He dodged the blows and swung his sword as battle he did engage.
With one quick spell he trapped her and could easily take her life,
But goodness still rang true, and he could not kill his wife.

'To the Abyss I banish you!' came his final decree.
And Vhaeraun shall go with you, his evil now I see.
Eilistraee need not share their fate, her innocence he knew,
But to balance out their evils ways would need one of pure virtue.

Araushnee, now known as Lloth, still wicked webs she weaves.
And Corellon in Arvandor still for his loss he grieves.
Now too this day the elves are split of drow, and sun and grey.
Mayhap sometime the rift will close in a far, far distant day.
