All the drow coming back?

Postby namatoki » Thu Feb 22, 2001 12:10 am

Well, seeing the return of Zajan confirms all the drow coming back. Let's see, we have Jegzed, Zoldren, Zajan, Fezzboz, and (I believe) Katheli. Which other drow are coming back too?

I won't be coming back, since I never played a drow, but I'm pretty sure I'll put in an appearance as one of the newer drow crowd. Especially with Menzo around the corner.

Last time I spoke to Katheli (a month ago) he said he wouldn't be mudding anymore, not here and not on duris... when did you speak to him?

Hehe, maybe all you former drow could give a drow wannabe some tips on playing the race? Drow are mucho +style but blind on the surface, eh? This might not be a problem when Menzo comes in and there's better UD zones for the deep dwelling races, but how do you deal with not being able to see half of the time if you want to join up with snakes/ogres/trolls, etc?

As well, I'm looking to roll a rogue so would drow be my best bet for agi/dex among the evil races?

As you can tell, my evil exp extends to mostly trolls and ogres, although I knew a fair number of snakes last Era. Never hung out w/any UD races, though.

Doh! I thought you were coming back, Jegzed! *sigh* Image

Well, I didn't speak to Katheli, but my brother did, and he said that Katheli was thinking about coming back. I think that was about a month ago on another mud. He might have changed his mind then.

Oops, how could I forget Zortan, Vazzgo, and Dizid. Sorry guys... Heh... Image

As for Harthorm, well, it does suck not being able to see in the sun, but we tend to avoid that by staying in the UD or indoors. If the sun comes up, hopefully you have a fogger with you or a squid with darkness. I never did much on the surface but then again, I only got to 32 with my enchanter before the wipe. *shrug* Drow are a blast to play, and drow sign is one of the coolest forms of communication. Bah, drows are only blind 12 hours each day on the surface.. Thats no big hassle, only wusses whined about it..

Was never any need to go topside as drow anyway, UD was huge enough for me.

Of course, there were those twinks that had to run to BG exp.

I think its extremely weird that Marching Mountains and Westfalls, two of the best damn exp places around and very close to Dobluth Kyor was practically always empty, while BG and HP was stacked with lowbies.

Then again, I got my drow to level 50, what do I know?

There are plenty of ways to avoid the light such as memory of dirs, know wich are dark rooms, spells to block that stupid daylight.. it's not that easy but extremelly entertaining... oh yeah, and minthur maps helped me alot.. wonder why..

We missing some others like dizzin and jaznolg... where you guys at? and im trying to adquire us an excellent rogue such like nilan in drow shape!... probably would need to change his name to nilzz or somethig hehe.. see you in the dark

Ahhhh, thanks for all the tips. I had previously understood the UD to be a somewhat pitiful thing, didn't know it was so developed already.

I'll have to lure more ppl to the Drow Side and invite some trolls and ogres down there. Maybe they'll get lost *cackle*.

Hi Vazz, Hi guys

Well seems the forces of darkness are gonna get the skills of this experienced rogue and murderer Image Wont be walkin in the light no more, since they do not accept nor wish my talents in combat. The shadows will guide me and have guided me toward your call.
I , like every good assassin, shall sell my skills where they are of course wanted Image and that is of course with my friends and adventuring companions.

See ya guys soon for more adventures, who knows maybe even we shall see the City of Waterdeep crumble to rubble. I personally want Lord Piergieron and his knightly order wriggling on the end of my poisoned daggers

PS and if i recall Drows do have similar names like Nilan, after all Dinin was Drizzts brother right ?

heheh

I'll be back Niz... wouldn't miss hanging out with you and Zal for anything! Course, I don't get to mud too often... but I'll be there to keep you company while you wander the UD in search of excitement (and helpless victims)... even if I am only 3rd lvl and you're 35th!... I should be making a return as Vlazik -thief- and this time I'll have more hitting power! -whistles innocently- Image And apparently the disguise skill has been upgraded, which will make those goodie hometowns even easier to infiltrate. Now if I can just figure out a way of entering that dang elfgate...

Cool Image I'm part of the european crew (tm) myself, so Russians are always good to have because they are in almost the same timezone... plus you are all damn good players, if yalomen, zloebis, roktar and katheli are anything to judge you by!

By the way, get katheli to come back for sojourn3, he was the best leader I ever saw!

I think there is an average chance for Katheli's return, but chances are rather poor for Roktar (he's in Duris, AFAIK) and I think that Zloebis is out (he's married BTW Image. I know them all quite well (we were from the same campus during Soj-2), but I dont know Yalomen at all. I think there are many Russians in Toril, much more than these 4 (including me)

Nods I see Roktar on duris all the time Image I've been playing less and less there lately though. Out of all the russians I knew I thought he would be the most likely to return, since he is the only one I actively see mudding... he'll fall for the sojourn temptation once it opens again (or at least I hope). I spoke to katheli 2 months ago and he said he wouldn't though Image

I love the fact that there are so many Russians, and other nationalities, playing on the mud. It definitely adds to the atmosphere of the game, and they're always trouble. Image
