ZMUD: Sorry, could not get a license at this time.

Postby Klandal » Wed Apr 14, 2004 6:52 pm

WTF is this crap? I try to start ZMud this morning and this crap pops up:

Sorry, could not get a license at this time.
Please try running this program later.

I e-mailed support@elicense.com as it stated in the ZMud forums, but now you know why I, and maybe others, can't play for a few days until this gets fixed.

I've had this happen to me before. eLicense's website has an app that fixes error 23 that you can download from their site. Check into it.

I just had this same exact problem.

They should email you back within a day, that is, if they remember to INCLUDE the file as an attatchment in the email. Dinkleberries forgot the first time.

If you still outa luck when I get home tonight, I'll see about emailing the file to you. :D

If not, Private message me your email and I'll send you the file they'll send you.

Elicense Patch

Postby Klandal » Thu Apr 15, 2004 8:16 pm

Kossuth, I looked for that patch on the elicense website but couldn't find it. Could you post a link to the page if you find it please?

I'm going through withdrawal so I sent Sesexe my email a while ago but haven't received word back yet. I'm assuming Sesexe is either at work or in a different timezone sleeping but look forward to getting this problem fixed ASAP and appreciate the responses so far. :)

There used to be a download link for the patch, looks like you have to fill out their support form now :(

If yer using the fast user switch feature in win xp this can cause problems (using windows + l to switch users). Make sure everyone else logged off before ya try runnin zmud.

Does anybody still have this patch? I've been without zmud here at work for about a week and a half now, wrote to eLicense three days ago and still no answer.

There is a new version of zmud, 7.05a, that should prevent this problem from happening.
Might give that a try.

Marthammor, you're a beautiful man.

Ummmm.... if you really are a man, that is, you can never tell here. But anyway, that worked just fine and fixed my problem. Thanks!!!

An addendum to this... apparently this fixed another issue of mine which I had no idea was connected. Every time I switched to a different website, my browser kept trying to install something from the original packaging CD, and when I cancelled out the action, it would give me a "Failed to Redirect" error message. I haven't had that problem once since upgrading, so it seems only logical to assume it had something to do with elicence's bug. It never occurred to me that the redirect problem and the zmud problem began at the same time, but now that I look back on it, they did.
